  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I had the factory remote starter installed in my 2015 Genesis Tech today and was told it would not control the heated seats. When reading the manual it states "The remote car starter was designed with flexibility and OEM integration in mind. With its programmable options, this unit can virtually control nearly any electrical system in your vehicle......Does anyone know if it is possible to have it turn on the heated seats when starting and if possible how to program the remote to do so?

Remote start comes standard as part of the BlueLink Genesis Intelligent Assistant for the first 3 months? Why did they have to "install it"?

From the Op's language ("The remote car starter was designed with flexibility and OEM integration in mind."), it appears this is an after market, fob-based remote start unit...

I gathered that, just making sure the OP knew he has remote start built-in (through an app).

Here in Canada we do not have those options so this is HYUNDAI's solution and is a genuine HYUNDAI part.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Dealer installed remote start in mine but it was a compustar. I had them add the drone mobile module.

I can turn on the heated or cooled seats when my Genesis starts automatically. I discussed the details in another thread. Basically what I did is add a circuit that electronically presses the button. I have s switch that can set the automatic operation to heat cool or off.

Sorry to burst your bubble but no such thing as a genuine Hyundai remote start. Yes the dealer may offer one just like most brands out there but apart from Ford, never heard of any one else who has a "genuine" remote from the manufacturer. If this were the case it would be a listed accessory in the Hyundai data base.

Aftermarket is the way to go. I'm a gear head/tech guy so I'm always installing Remote Starts and what not. I had some family issues which cause me to have almost no free time. I finally got around ordering a Directed 4x10 Bypass RS with additional temp sensor. I will program a lead that when ever I RS the car and the temperature is below 32*, it will turn the defroster and heated seats on. Very easily done with a relay. I till used the factory 3x lock to activate the remote start. Next year I will add the Smart Start module.

Can you remote start the car without having a subscription to blue link?

Boss, you just got seriously corrected. Any update on the Hyundai data base about this? Part number maybe? Interested in this since us Canadians don't get bluelink.

If there is no such thing please tell me what I have in the photo http://genesisowners.com/hyundai-genesis-forum/picture.php?albumid=864&pictureid=4232

Hey old_goat, so auxiliary functions (ie. accessory power) has to be wired and programmed at the time of installation.

The way 99.99% of alarm systems/remote start systems work is that the brain module has outputs for auxiliary functions. These ports on the brain need to be wired to the in car wiring for the specific feature you want to have turned on when the car is started. Along with the wiring the remote start brain needs to have the aux 1 or 2 or 3 etc... functioned programmed to power on when remote start is initiated.

If you aren't seeing the seats turning on when you start the key you would definitely need to go back to the installer and find out if auxiliary functions were wired and programmed correctly. You wouldn't be able to do this on your own, I don't think.

Unless this is some sort of ECU integrated unit...but I doubt that.
