Found a (real) cargo net for our trunk

I find the net that comes with the car totally useless.
I was looking for one that runs along the rear of the trunk that is a pocket, and you can place bags of groceries, umbrellas, or any small item in without it rolling around the trunk.
I checked ebay for Genesis cargo net, but found nothing.

I have it, but have not installed it yet. It is the perfect width for our car.
I just have to install the holders to string it on to.
Not a factory product, but looks to be of nice quality.
Buying one from Hyundai would probably cost 2-3 times more, if they are available.

Not sure how you will install it. The ebay site shows the Genesis as "not compatible" for that net you linked. Ebay does have several smaller velcro ones that can attach to the sides and hold small items, but that one seems to require hook points that may not exist on our cars. I find the supplied floor one works perfect for groceries, etc.

The one shown comes with 4 "knobs" with a screw hole in the center.
I am hoping to drill a hole for the screw and attach the netting to the "knob".

I agree and unlike the OP find the one that came with my Genesis works great ... I guess each to his/her own and obviously opinions will vary on what satisifies one or not.

Sad, another step backwards for the Genesis. The 1st generation has a great cargo net, plus hooks to attach it to.

What were the other backward steps, I forgot. We all know the many forward ones. The new floor mounted cargo net works well, along with the grocery bag hooks.

Between it and the small ebay velcro ones that attach to the sides, unless I am trying out for a role on "Deadliest Catch", there is plenty of netting.

Get one of those "trunk organizers" and call it a day.....no need to drill holes in your car. I know I wouldn't.

I'd be really careful with drilling holes - both for fear of hitting any wires and for fear of creating a leak where water/dust would come in.

I'm confused, I like the "cargo net" just fine. The key thing is the flip down hooks which, and I say this with experience at this point, will hold an astonishing amount of grocery bags, like 30# and not even flinch. Combine that with the Genesis logo mat, seems pretty legit. Spill something? Pull the mat out and power wash it. Done.

I solved this concern by putting a plastic storage box (removable top) in the back of my Genny and Grand Cherokee. It holds groceries and any other loose items that I would put in the trunk. If something (milk?) leaks, it is confined to the box and doesn't mess up the carpeted trunk liner. It is also removable for luggage and large items.

I find the net with our car works perfect. I can even fit a mid size cooler under it and it stays put. I use the hook mounted on the roof of the truck to hang grocery bags from. It holds a ton of them on each hook.

I do the same. And my box is collapsible accordion-style, so I basically leave it folded in the trunk when not needed. Much better than a net for potential spills, as you mentioned.

I have no rattles. I have fog lights. I have a complete set of new tires to be installed when I want or when the originals wear out. I'd judge that pretty good.

Much too late. Funny how pretty much EVERY review mentions what a wholesale improvement this car is over the otherwise very good first gen. Backwards? Not hardly.

Unfortunately, it seems that some G1 owners are living in denial and like to come here and tell us about all of the problems we have with the car they don't own... I guess they think that somehow the G2 being a significantly improved car reflects poorly on their older model - which, of course, it doesn't. One would hope that each new model, on a whole, is better than the vehicle it replaces! Otherwise Hyundai, would end up out of business due to competition.
