  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I can't say enough about this car after four months and 2,200 miles. I have a 2015 AWD with all the option packages. It is not a daily driver and sometimes sits for a week at a time. When we do take it out, it is that same "driving it for the first time feeling". I drive a 2016 Tacoma pickup, a 2004 Jeep Rubicon and my wife a 2016 Hyundai Tucson, but our real love is this car. We don't use it for short trips around town, but for "Sunday Cruises" to neighboring towns for lunch or shopping or to just look around. I live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and it is very rural, so there is some distance between towns. I get a lot of compliments on this car and most likely have the only one of its type anywhere nearby. Some people will come up and admire it and when they ask what type of car it is, some roll their eyes (so to speak) when I tell them it is a Hyundai. With no Hyundai dealerships within 200 miles, their cars are not something you see with regularity here. Unfortunately, some here still remember Hyundai from 25 years ago when their reputation was poor. Little do they know the quality of this car. I had a 2011 Cadillac CTS prior to this and test drove the 2016 CTS before purchasing this car. Boy, did I make the right choice.

Nice! Finally another person just like me lol! Agree with you 100% man. It's our trip, vacation, cruise car. A part of me wished we bought a 2 door instead but then we wouldn't be able to take our friends/family out.

I live in the city and rarely see any Genesis sedans so I can agree that people do take notice. This car gets more stares than my 300S with a bright red interior.

People can't really accept that it's a Hyundai, so I just say, "V8 Genesis sedan" when questioned...or Aston Martin when I'm feeling cocky and want a laugh.

Nearly 6,000 miles on my 2016. Love it! What a FUN car. No issues, so far. Just came from a series of 6 Toyota's. Two Camry's, 2 Highlanders, 2 Avalon's. I have had some ask if it was a Bentley? Others if it was a C-- car. I liked the Bentley comparison better. Have taken it on several road trips. One nearly 3,000 miles. Still has that "New Car" smell. It is the only Genesis Sedan in town. One other Coupe. The Ultimate is the way to go. Have a friend that got a XTS a year ago. He has a hard time talking to me as of late! He is still my friend??
With the Avalon's I always drove to get the best mileage. Now I love to select the "Sport" mode and "enjoy the drive"!
My MPG's are better than expected. But still less that what I got with the Avalon"s. Just need to get it "Broken In".
Boy, did I make the right choice.

Glad to see some positive threads to break up the endless whining and complaining. This is a freaking terrific car. It pulls TONS of compliments, but more importantly, fills me with an abiding sense of satisfaction every time I drive it.

To the OP - how about a pic - I never get tired of Genesis pics!

Glad you are enjoying it. Hyundai killed it with the G2!

20 months of ownership with 27,000 miles on mine and I enjoy it as much as the day I bought it (even though it is in the shop right now for an EPB issue) :D

Had quite a few Benz's. This vehicle is right up there with the big boys.

Every time I get in and drive I have a smirk on my face. For the price we pay and the equipment included this is the best deal out there bar none. Really, really enjoy this car. What a sleeper. I just gassed up not 15 minutes ago beside the office, girl said "nice Bentley" I replied "much more reliable than a Bentley" :D

No kidding... that's where I lived for 8 years. Graduated high school and dad still lives near KI. I visit often on motorcycle trips around the great lakes, bring friends up for snowmobiling in KI, Mqt & munising, and some quad running too. Where abouts are you at?

Don't do that. Just say "Genesis". Until the rest of the line comes out starting later this year - it stands on it's own. Sounds more exotic that way. and gets far less eyerolls. Soon you can say it is a Genesis G80. :D

I will be doubling the number of G2's in the UP this Memorial Day weekend. :) We should do an owners meet! LOLZ.

Dammit... I wanted to be the first G2 owner with a Yooper pic! :D lol.

You too, eh? I thought I was the only one. :D
