  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Android Auto and Apple Car Play update. Go to your myhyundai account then to the 'downloads' tab to find out more and download. The ultimate packages will not receive the update.

I have no downloads tab. Wonder if i need to delete some cookies.

No, for the tab to be visible and active you have to be running a Mac(k) or Windoze.

Be patient, it takes _FOREVER_ to write to the map card. *twiddles thumbs, drums fingers*

strike that. Whoever wrote this knew exactly what they were doing. 2hr download 1hr install time.... Minimum 3hrs billable for the dealer (for those folks who can't manage this relatively easy task on their own). Hyundai knew exactly what they were doing. Sneaky Sneaky.

yes! took me an hour to download update. another 20 minutes to unzip and put files on the sd card. another 45 minutes for the car to update from the sd card. ugh! not sure it was worth it since i just use a USB drive for my mp3s anyway!

Seems like it's going to be a pain if you have to keep your phone plugged in all the time. I guess the regular system just works until you enable CarPlay, every ride? Which by itself is kind of a pain. This should be interesting.

Most folks I know plug their phones in when they are in the car for more than a few minutes anyhow to keep things charged. I do - and have the vent magnet mount... so - plug & plop. Takes 3 seconds.

Ya I get it, but when CarPlay was originally sold to the world they said it wouldn't require being plugged in. Now, they (Apple) claim it's coming in the future. Will that update make it to Hyundai? Who knows. Either way, minor inconvenience and a preference thing.

I am impressed (and grateful) that Hyundai even gave us the opportunity to self-upgrade.
