  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

How far back do headrests go?

I have been looking at a lot of cars but the Genesis has the most features. I also like the fact that it takes regular gas and isn't a turbo 4.
However, I have neck problems and headrests are often a deal breaker for me. I should have asked the salesman when I test drove but I didn't. So,
I'll ask here. How far backward do the headrests go from the normal or default position, i.e. the position they'd be in at the dealership, assuming they were brand new?

For me, in the normal position, the headrest didn't allow me to rest my head enough and pushed me too far forward. I think if I were a few inches taller, it might be okay but at my height, it would be too bothersome when driving regularly.

The headrests can be adjusted forward/backward. There is no way to tell which position they were set at during your test drive. I recommend testing again and moving the headrest forward/back to see what the adjustment range is and if it works for you.

I've found that adjusting the height of the headrest also helps with finding that sweet spot. Try that when you get a chance and see if it helps. Thanks, Paul

There are also two diiferent types of seats, depending on the model. Take another test drive.

The adjustable head rest has 3 positions moving for and aft. So yes, take another drive.

For me, most cars seem to have me laying back, even in my '12 R Spec, but in my '15 5.0, I can adjust it to the middle setting and it's perfect for me.
