  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello guys I'm new to the group just purchased a 12 Genesis 3.8 sedan. I just totaled my Nissan Altima SR version. The guys in my Nissan and Infiniti car club are so pissed because I'm not a Nissan owner anymore but when the guys got me out on the highway w my stock Genesis I was riding right along side all the supped up G35 and G37's. What can I do to tweak the power or horses to make faster top end or acceleration so that they wont feel that my new car is a joke? :grouphug:

Hey. Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm sorry to hear about your Nissan Altima SR - that's a pretty nice car. The Genesis Sedan is different. It's a luxury car. Not all a car's merit is based on it's performance. There's a lot of amenities that your Genesis has that the G35/37 does not. It may not be as quick - but --- who cares? Seriously. You have a big luxury sedan and people like IT as much as people like the G35/37 - just in a different way. Be proud of your car. I'll let others follow up about performance modifications as they know more about it than I do...

Now it's good time to trade it in for an Rspec! believe me, they will be surprised :p

"How do I make it faster" Shoulda had a V8 :P

But in all seriousness, there aren't a ton of major performance mods available for the Genesis sedan. Without throwing a LOT of money and time into building some form of forced induction setup, you're not gaining much in the way of performance. As mentioned before, enjoy your luxury sedan. You have more room, more options, and just as much or more power as the G35's you're concerned with. They're lighter and therefore accelerate faster. Other than opinions on looks, that's literally all they have on you.

Thanks guys and I'm glad I'm a part of the group now. It's nothing like that I love the car and really don't care what other people say about it. With me as a person the car will look like a very nice luxury car with very nice wheels on in about four months because that's the kind a guy that I am. They are just hating at this point because I'm not in a Nissan that's all and thanks for The welcome.

How much does one need to spend on wheels to be impor'unt?

It really doesn't matter the price unless you run into someone that really knows their wheel brands and pricings which is rare. I don't want a v8 just to have a faster vehicle because I drive a lot and I drove a v8 as a tester that was fine but that doesn't work for me because the gas will eat me alive in Texas everything is far away.
