  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I went in for new tires this weekend and I test drove a "used" 2015 Genesis 5.0 (not ultimate) with 3k miles. I have a 2015 3.8 with 19k miles. I was seriously debating on a trade-in this weekend. I mean... 5.0!

The 5.0 is priced at $41,995... opinions?

Will all depend on what the trade in price is on your existing car. Best to handle that separate of the new car deal, otherwise you will never know what you actually paid for or got for your old car.

They dropped all those numbers on me. I knew the price of the car (on sticker) before the deal started. It was $42995. Quoted me on my car as $29, which isn't too bad. A little off of KBB, which I understand.

Hmmm... $41K is high for a used 5.0 non ultimate. I haven't looked at the used market lately but I will tell you this...mine is brand new and cost less :)

I would start AT $35K...but that's just me. Also, is it AWD?

That information was fantastic! Thanks

Also, this is a RWD.

The 5.0 is awesome but I would look for an Ultimate.

Just to give you an idea of pricing. I bought a 2015 5.0 Non Ultimate with around 4k Miles. Never titled for 33,750 + TTL. Hope this helps!

That price is high for a used. A new with 3k miles my intuition is they will not come down from $35k + TTL. This being used (CPO?), I would go lower, my guess: $33k + TTL best rate

You all rock. Thanks a lot! This helps a good bit.

This was exactly what I was looking for. I am not interested in the Ultimate at all.

Android Auto.... I love Google Maps. Plus the DIS doesn't do anything for me.

I get needing Google maps if you have to have it, but the HUD, DIS and trim are pretty nice.

Yep, he's right. Their starting price is too high. I got my 5.0 4200 miles on obo for 37.8k

Go get it tiger! :D

btw. Ultimate is limited = you pay more, you get less (AA comes to mind ;) )

Trim is there without Ultimate. The DIS is meh... not my thing (AA better). and The HUD doesn't work with my preferred polarized sunglasses, right?

HUD doesn't work with polarized sunglasses. I bought a pair of non-polarized sunglasses to use in the car.

The other significant option that the 5.0 Ultimate has is the Continuous Damping Control adaptive suspension. The V8 is more front-heavy than the V6 and, according to most reviewers, doesn't handle as well as the V6 (not just talking about clipping apexes, but general maneuverability and feel when driving). I've only driven a 5.0 Ultimate, so I can't say for certain how much of a difference the V8 or the CDC make. I'd recommend taking a long test drive in both a regular 5.0 and an ultimate, then back in your V6, before you make a decision.

Thanks for the heads up. The dealer isn't budging so it seems like that car will remain on the lot anyways. No biggie...

I found HUD so useful that changed my sunglasses to non-polarized.

Same here...I keep my polarized glasses in the upper console for those times I get out of the car and will be in the sun.

Me too.......just changed out the lenses in my Serengetis....not so sure the polarization made that much difference for me but I DO value the HUD.

I suggest you go test drive an non-Ultimate then drive and Ultimate (both in Sport mode) and you will see why :D
