  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Recently the driver mirror wouldn't fold, under warranty they ordered me a new one and it's in the process of getting painted. The service advisor keeps trying to sell me on the 45,000 mile recommended service. When I look at the maintenance log that came with the car, I do not see that I need anything but an oil change and cabin air filter.

Are these recommended services required to keep my car under warranty or are they ways to make more money off of us?

Thank you!

XX,XXX mile service packages are not required, and are only to make money for the dealer. Obscene amounts of money. Only do those specific items listed in the owner's manual (or maintenance control log).

You can purchase the cabin air filter at the Hyundai parts department and install it yourself (in the glove box). It is a little tricky on some model years, but there are video's on YouTube on how to do it. The trick is when removing the two clips inside the glove box, is that the glove box needs to be closed as far as it can be, while still allowing your hand to fit in there to remove the clips (or put them back in).

Same with engine air filter.

When buying parts, always ask the price first, otherwise they sometimes tend to overcharge customers.

Thank you for the response and for the cabin air filter tips. I actually just ordered one through Amazon and was going to look for tips on how to install it.
