G80 badging

I apologize if this has been covered but I suspect a lot of us will want to rebadge our cars G80 by simply replacing the Genesis lettering on the trunk. I can't tell if the displacement font is different though. Has anyone been able to tell if there is anything beyond that (I already have the rear winged genesis trunk badge)?

Eventually, you should be able to order the OEM G80 badging from your Hyundai dealer parts department.

@Mathwiz....I like the look of your 1G. I agree with the rest on the G80 but to each its own. Good looking car either way.

I don't really understand the G80 rebadging. Are you trying to fool people into thinking you have a '17 model year car? The '15/'16 were sold here as Genesis, the G80 is not till '17 model year. yes I know they look the same other than the badging. I posted pictures of them already here in SOCAL so yes I've seen them up close. Even the interior is the same.

If anything, just remove all badging, I did.

I don't get why you would do that. G80 is worse than having Genesis there but again personal preference. G80 means you have just one kind of model in Genesis lineup instead of whole Genesis brand just fir your car.

The G1 sedan is admirable in its own right and will always stand as the literal "Genesis" of what has become a separate brand stream. I'd be proud of it for what it is and what it represents. I would not seek to pretend that it is something that it quite obviously is not.

Mine is already a G80... In my mind The naked look. Really confuse them

Even with a Genesis badge, people still ask all the time "What car is this?"

Yes they do and I tell them it is a Hyundai Genesis.

ok, this may be a newbie question but what the heck is BH & DH?

The BH was the designation for the 2009-2014 Genesis, and DH for 2015-2016.

For example, in Korea the 2009 lettering on the trunk was:

• Genesis BH380
• Genesis BH460

The Korean versions of have always been sold under the Genesis brand, not Hyundai. That's why were able to get the Genesis wings from Korea to replace the USA flying "H" for the trunk, rims, steering wheel, etc.

In reality I just think it's cooler to say you drive a Genesis than a number-jumble G80 or G90.

I'm going to rebadge pretty soon, it looks good. Also, having the Genesis wing, plus GENESIS emblem is doing way too much. Way to say "look at me, I'm a Genesis" to everyone. I think it's better to have the wing Genesis emblem, followed by G80/90 as the model. That way, people won't assume you bought a Genesis Genesis
