Not sure about the USA, but my salesperson at the local dealer said that the G80 will probably be a 2018 model, available late 2016 or early 2017. They will not be officially releasing it until after the G90 hits the streets later this year.

yeah seems like canada is getting screwed. There are some G80s at the port in california. My guess is there will hit the dealer lots in august/september

I wouldn't wait past August. Right now is the sweet spot for decent residual value and low money factor, plus all the factory incentives.

Dealers in the Detroit area have been offering employee discount for the past 2 months, and I leased by base AWD ($42,345 MSRP) for $283/mo with $1000 total due at signing for 36mo/12k miles. Couldn't beat that deal within 500 miles. Trust me, I tried for 2 months.

My dealer said 2017 G80 will be in stock by September. The have already started arriving at one of the Hyundai ports of entry in Southern California, but there are multiple ports of entry for Hyundai on west and east coast also.

My dealer still has 16 of the 2016 Genesis sedan's in stock, so I think the leases will still be available for awhile on them, because HMA has to provide incentives to get most of them sold before they can start delivering the 2017 G80 to dealers.

For me, I wanted a base model to have lower payments, but finding the color combo was difficult. As inventory drops, you will be hard pressed to find what you want and may have to pay more.

And remember to open a BoostUp account, even if you have no current need for it. You don't have to fund the account until you're ready to buy/lease a Hyundai, but in order to qualify for the $500 match from Hyundai, the account has to have been opened (not funded) for at least 30 days. Mine was opened over three years ago and was finally funded with a debit card the day before we did the lease deal.

I think it will be about two months before the G80's hit the dealer lots in any numbers. The port in Southern California was the first (closest to Korea and closest to HMA in Southern California), but they need to get ports of entry loaded on east coast also, and then do HMA importer prep (window stickers, etc) and get cars to dealers in a coordinated manner to start their national advertising and website conversion. They don't want to do that piecemeal.

Not to mention the number of 2016's still sitting on dealer lots that need to be moved out. My dealer has about 16 2016 Genesis sedans in stock.

Must be a big (or dumb) dealer. Dealers in my state typically have fewer than 5 on hand, some only have one or two.

No, just a high volume dealer in a southern state where Genesis sells fairly well. I didn't check the inventory of the other 4 Hyundai dealers in my metro area, but my dealer is probably the biggest Hyundai dealer in my area.

The G80 has started arriving at the importer (HMA) port of entry in Southern California. They have not shipped to dealers yet, although some may have been sent to HMA headquarters in the Southern California.

There are multiple Hyundai ports of entry on both east and west coast of US for vehicles made in Korea and sold in USA. "Most" other Hyundai's sold in the USA are assembled in the USA.
