  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Greetings to the good people of style, luxury, performance (and value) :)

I am a car enthusiast, have been for many years, but I am new to this forum to the world of Hyundai Genesis. Hello!

Just got mine with the decent mpg model :)

....and figuring how to upload some pix.

She's so hot the local fire dept came out for the debut :)

Nice blue! Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm really glad the Genesis is attracting more automobile enthusiasts like myself! I have a 2GV6 myself! In white! :)

Thanks all the warm welcome!

Ultimate, Signature and Tech packages. Loaded ride sans the real engine, V8 :D

Nice color.... So you went with the slower color model.....lol

RWD at 4150 lbs curb weight? She's a bloated boat, one can no longer take the corner hard! haha

I cannot handle the V8 mpg with 90% city driving.

Welcome! Man, loving that color! Are you going to mod it?

Thanks! She's a family wagon now. So no modding.....well, any mods that will not negatively impact buttery smooth ride of this thing of a beast will be considered :)

Monticito blue? Congrats and welcome!

Ibiza Blue, Sir!

Woot woot :grouphug:

Nice ride and welcome.

Not a really big MPG difference between the V6 and V8.

Being a car nut, I went for the V8. ;)

Thanks. Yeah a bit if a difference.

And now for a bigger margin. My first and perhaps only mod will be getting rid of heavy OEM lead wheels.* Does anyone know how much they weigh? An ebay seller responded to my inquiry; about 28 lbs for each wheel.* It sounds reasonable for OEM, but it’s giving me a HUGH desire to pull the trigger on lightweight wheels.*

*

I found these on Tirerack.com weight listed at 18.5 lbs.* Ten pounds shed per corner of unsprung weight will make a BIG difference in sprung weight saving. It is estimated a saving of 1 lb unsrprung weight is equivalent of saving 10 lbs of sprung weight.* Of course, other rations out there are 1:2, 1:5 all the way to 1:10.

*

Example: OEM 28 lbs minus 18 lbs wheel (rounded down) = 10 lbs x 4 corners = 40 lbs saving of unsprung weigh.* So using best case 1:10 ratio that is equivalent of 400 lbs of sprung weight.* This can no doubt be felt by improved acceleration a tad, faster zero to 60 times. Shorter distance braking and easier work for the brakes, AND slight improvement on MPG. What’s not to like here?

*

Anyone with experience and/or thoughts on the benefits of lightweight wheels? I’d love to hear.

Congrats on the new ride an :welcome: aboard

Thanks AF. Just completed 600 miles break in period. However she is a bit on the 'chubby' side to be a nimble runner.

With BI period done. Will gently push some zero to 60 runs, but i can feel the stock wheels are quite heavy, so looking for 18 or 19's lightweight wheels upgrade.
