  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

As a new Genny owner I'm still learning about her...I filled up 2X's at a Raceway station (off brand) and only got 15 - 17 mpg city and on the hwy the highest I saw was 22 mpg....Saturday I filled up at a BP gas station and saw 25 mpg after a short drive on the hwy and in the city it hasn't fell under 18 mpg ..I only use 93 I guess I'll be using BP from now on.....I also learned on this site that the reason I didn't hear any chirp when locking the doors was because a little rubber grommet was missing from the underside of the hood :D

If the octane level is the same, and both are top tier certified (http://www.toptiergas.com/retailers/) the gas mileage should be very similar, if not the same.

I do notice that Raceway is not on the top tier list.

My gas mileage doesn't vary much whether I use top tier gasoline or not, but, I've researched enough to know top tier gasoline is definitely beneficial to my car and I can get it for virtually the same price... sometimes 2 or 3 cents/gal difference which IMO is worth it. Much less carbon build up, cleaner burning of gasoline, etc.

Now, if I can find "ethanol free" gasoline, I get about a 3-4 MPG increase, but, the few stations that carry it want 50cents + more per gallon..... it's a rip-off and not worth the difference even though there's a significant bump in MPG and I can truly feel the difference in throttle response, I'm just not going to be ripped off like that.

Have you looked at the list of top tier retailers in the link I provided above? Top tier does not mean "major brand," and it now includes a large percentage of all gasoline retailers (although it didn't start out that way).

It's nice to know some of the lesser known brands are now top tier, however, not sure why you're asking this question.

I'm stating my gas mileage doesn't vary from brand to brand regardless of top tier or not..... only difference I've noticed is with non-ethanol gasoline.

Can you explain you question a little better?

I was wondering if, after seeing the list, you actually were using a non top-tier brand.

I buy gasoline according to location and need. I try to buy top-tier brands if reasonably priced, but, if I need gas and all that's available is a non top-tier brand, then I'll buy that.

But, no, of the newer brands added, I've not seen any of them in my area and I travel very little these days.
