Hey guys just wondering if any of you have a slight drivetrain vibration between 23-25 mph? You have to have everything off to really hear and feel it, but no matter what gear, accelerating, decelerating, load or no load if I am going between 23-25 mph there is an audible and physical vibration right under the center console. It almost goes away after a few miles though so its really weird.

I feel that its either the driveshaft or the center differential...either way its very annoying as when I start my car whether in the morning, afternoon, night, etc. I never have the music on so I can hear it...and driving through my neighborhood I always drive at that speed to the entrance.

The car will be going to the dealership eventually, but just wondering if any of you had this problem and if there was a simple fix.

Thanks

If you feel it that slow it may be a bad tire.

I know it's not a tire because the vibration is fast...almost like a tire vibration but at speeds of 50+mph...and again its coming right under the center console and its even louder when i open the center console.

Is it only when tires are cold? They could be flat spotting.

If you have the Michelin OEM Tires I will bet it is the tires flatspotting. Even after half an hour in hot weather they will flatspot, causing exactly the vibration you describe.

I had flat-spotting with the Hankooks in my 2015. I honestly never found it to be a real issue and I have not noticed it on my 2016 with the Michelins.

However, flat-spotting was silent and a slight rhythmic vibration of the whole car (esp noticeable in the steering wheel) - it was not "audible and physical vibration right under the center console". That sounds more like a driveshaft issue?

Guys...it is not flat spotting as I said earlier that it is coming directly from the center console and at 24mph it is too fast sounding....if it was flat spotting then the speed of the sound is more like 60 or 70 mph so it is not that

But with these kind of responses I'm going to guess no one else is having this problem

I'm not saying it is but my flat spotting is not at 60-70 MPH. It happens at around 30-40 MPH then it desapears in a couple of minutes.

But what im saying is that the vibration noise coming from the center console is a vibration noise that is rapid like if you were going 60+mph while only going 24mph

So it can't be flat spotting...but either way no one is getting this noise so forget about it....I'll just take it to the dealer whenever they fix my issue with the bumper

i have AWD v6 and get a distinct clicking/hammering sound (almost like a very quiet jackhammer) at about 25mph only when cruising (letting off the gas, no braking). As soon as I touch the gas or brakes it stops. Coming from the right front corner. When I lower the right window to see if it gets louder, I can't hear it over the wind noise.

The noise is more obvious when the car is cold and just started driving and seems to get more quiet as the car warms up. It can be VERY faintly heard from probably 28mph down to 22mph, but is much more obvious as the car cruises and decelerates down to 25mph.

I guess I only notice it because I drive in slow stop/go traffic. If you drive on open roads or highways, you'd probably never notice this issue.

that could possibly be a tire, rotor, brake piston, pads, rims, etc....

however my noise is coming directly underneath my center console...its even louder when i open my center console.

i doubt its anything at the wheel/brake, because its not louder when i open the window....anything from that area usually echos back into the car off of buildings you pass by.

Just take it in to the dealer...Make sure you go with the tech for a ride to have him hear the clicking.... If you don't do this they probably will give you the typical answer NO PROBLEM FOUND

I have 2015 Ultimate, and having a similar if it is not the exactly the same issue. Mine happens at near 30 MPH. Either I accelerate or decelerate, when the speed reaches around 30, it makes the noise. It is driving me crazy.

Did you get any resolution on this? I took it to the dealership, and they tighten the screws, but still the same.

See this post, it talks about the same issue that other owners have faced. Clicking Noise between 25-30ml on the road. and flutter @ 25-30mph
Replace the propeller shaft.
This is the corresponding part number i think: 49100-B1100 shaft assy-propeller

Good luck!

I bought a Genesis g80 last August.. was 22000when I bought.. have drove 7k and now approx 29000.. suddenly started vibrating today at low speed.. happening at approx 0-20 miles speed.. really bad vibration.. but driving smooth for now at 40+ miles speed..

Interesting that this thread comes to life every few months.
I had this very problem. As others have said, it's coming from the driveshaft. Genesis has a bearing around the driveshaft. The sound occurs between 22-25mph and is more pronounced if you open the center console.
Dealer had to replace whole driveshaft. $1200 fix covered under warranty for me.
Good Luck!
