Long brake stops

I just came out of an Infiniti Q50 sport to a great 2016 Gen 3.6. I know they are two totally different cars and by know means am I comparing but I am noticing the Genesis brakes what seems to be unusually long to me. Also the break pedal seems a little low. No big deal, maybe just an adjustment period but I was wondering how others felt.

i have had the same issue. I took it to the dealer 3 times and got the "Thats the way they are supposed to work" I finally got am adviser that had the breaks bleed an it made the brakes less of a travel to stop.

My 2016 3.8 is low compared with my wife's 2016 Sonata.

i don't understand what you are saying. are you saying the brake pedal is low to the floor, or it takes a long push to get the brakes to activate?

What I am saying is the brake position seems a bit low and the car takes longer than I expected to stop.

Just ask the dealer to bleed the brakes.

go to the dealership and hop into another genesis and see if it's brake pedal position is the same or different than yours.

Same story here and same fix. A thread as well. After 9k miles, the brakes have broken in nicely and they work very well. Still not crazy about the "feel", but I have been told by several people with different makes of cars that modern electronic brake units suck.

I test drove a used Genesis with 7k miles or so, and it had spongy brakes. I had the experience in the back of my mind when I test drove my new Genesis. Happy to report the brakes feel fine so far....

I would ask the dealer to bleed the brakes. Bad rotors would most likely shake upon braking, but bleeding or replacing the brake fluid should firm them up unless something is wrong mechanically.
