  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone heard any news if Kia will do a spin-off?

Great question. I haven't heard anything but I get this funny feeling we're going to start seeing new luxury Kias with the logo they use in South Korea (see image below). My guess would be the Kia K900 and Cadenza first getting it. Perhaps next generation. If that happens - then my guess would be that there could be a luxury brand/spinoff coming soon...

I've kind of got my eye on the 2017 Cadenza. Saw a good review of it (You Tube, Alex on Autos). We'll see what the reviews are once it's released.

I don't mean to turn this into a Kia discussion, but would hate to buy a 2017 Kia and have them spin-off like Hyundai.

Don't worry, I moved this discussion into our "Kia" area - as it's about Kia... I saw that whole review by Alex on Autos and he did a great job. It really is quite a nice car. It's strange that Kia doesn't market it as a luxury car. It IS a luxury car...

I doubt you'll have to worry about Kia spinning off into a separate brand for at least a generation or two...

Kia probably doesn't have the resources to spin off a luxury brand like Hyundai and/or having a lineup of vehicles to sustain a separate luxury brand.

But they can still do the sub-brand route and at least give the Kia luxury models a different badge and offer greater service amenities (don't think something like valet service is necessary, but free loaners, a separate service lounge, etc.).

Yeah, that would be fine. People were really happy to change their Hyundai badge for the winged Genesis badge and I imagine lots of people would like having a badge other than the typical cheap looking KIA logo...
