  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Am I missing something.

I downloaded the new app in my 2016 Genny. The one where you can set a valet alert, geo fence, speed limit. Etc. is it true the only way to turn the various services on and off is through a computer on the my Hyundai site? If so, what the hell good is that? So you pull into a parking garage and have to tell the valet " wait while on turn my app on"? I can't find a way to do it in the car or on the Genesis or Bluelink app. Please tell me it's me?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!

No, it's not you. I saw the same thing. This is the most stupid thing I've ever seen. Valet can only be activated thru the computer.

Well glad to know a tech and car geek like myself did not miss something. Sad to see someone would actually design something so freakin stupid.

I think it can be activated thru voice commands in the rearview mirror.

I just know about 2 apps, bluelink and genesis apps. Are you talking about these apps? Never saw anything to do with geo fence, speed limit etc.

Confirmed. Just got off the phone with customer care. The only way to control the in car alerts app is via a laptop or desktop computer. No way to access it ( turn on and off) from the Genesis app on your phone or from within the car. So let's say you set the valet setting at .25 miles. It will alert you every time you start the car and drive more than .25 miles. In my Q50 you were able to pull into a parking garage and via the phone app turn the alert on and than off when you returned to the car.
ONCE AGAIN THE MOST STUPID THING I HAVE EVER SEEN!

Ps: I actually started laughing when the customer care rep told me this. He asked me why I was laughing.
