How much would spare keys cost?

kn5owa - No they didn't. It was ruled a 50/50 accident because the cop had his lights and sirens on, yet didn't slow down at the intersection. They were going to find me completely at fault, because the police officer and his witness (another police officer) lied and said he came to a full stop.

It wasn't until they tried to claim over $30K in damages that my insurance company contested and said, "how did you get $30k in damages if you came to a complete stop and hit him 4 ft. later?"

However, because its the police department where I live, the last thing I need is to sue for it, and have a target on my back for the rest of my stay here.

I happen to have an extra Sonata key, but I have two genny keys. I was proposing possibly offering to sell ppanhorst my spare Sonata key if it worked for much cheaper than he'd have to pay to buy one. I just wasn't sure if it would work or not.

I haven't bought the salvage car yet, but I haven't stopped looking. The issue I see so far is getting in touch with the prospective salvage yard and determining if the parking sensors are F'd or not. Also, believe it or not, not many Gennys that get wrecked/salvaged are R-Specs so I have to make sure the one I grab works on mine. From my estimation, it would be about $500 for the car, and about $1500 for it to be shipped to MA.

Anyone in the northeast interested in going in on a salvage car together? I really only need bumper sensors, but wouldnt mind having the car handy to pick from.

I was stuck with my name at birth. It worked out better for me than my cousin Penney. At least she got married and moved. I've been watching the totaled market as well. I watched the auction of the 1 you listed a while back and it went for $2350. You'd be lucky to get it for $500. That $2350 was a flooded vehicle and they go really cheap. I'm in Louisiana and we are about to have a slew of flooded vehicles hit the market. This damn water was deep though. It went across 2 major highways (I-10 east/west and I-55 north/south) over 50 miles apart. I've been watching wreckers pull cars down the highway and they are over the steering wheel. Careful if you hit the Louisiana stuff. I would have loved to have split a car with someone but I ended up fixing my hail damaged car with bondo instead of real parts. It actually turned out well. I still want some tail lights. If you see something let me know. I'm close enough to check it out. Good luck with it.

Has anyone bought a cheap blade ($7) for a 2014 Hyundai Genesis r-spec and got it to open the trunk and fit properly into the remote without forcing it?
My local locksmirh refuses to cut anything but an OEM part because his experience is the cheap blades won't program, only OEM parts will.

A replacement key is 2 parts. The blade and the FOB. The blade will cut but since it's a chunk of metal but it will not program. The FOB is what he's referring to. I'd go to someone else. Let the dealership program it and just find a locksmith with a sidewinder key cutter for the blade that will open the doors and trunk. There are links here where to get the right key. It's still expensive compared to the days of $2 car key cuts to the tune of $200 but you don't have to pay the $400-500 the dealership wants. Good luck
