  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So I have noticed that there is constant heat in my seat and in my arm rest. When I open up the arm rest it's feels like a oven box on hot days. Feels like heat from the bottom of the car. It's cooler here in Iansas and I still feels a little hot coming from below. Any ideas or anybody expericneknow the same? I thought it had to do with my car being black on black but now that it's cooler I still feel it.

Check to see if your rear seat AC controls (on back of center console) are set to heat...

I haven't noticed seat heat, but the armrest storage holds onto heat like an oven. After the car has been sitting in the sun all day, it's still boiling in there long after the a/c has cooled the rest of the interior.

+1.. i kept feeling heat on my elbow and it turned out that the rear vents were on heat. Even when the ac is on in the front the back will send out heat if its placed on heat.

I car pool for my daughter's ballet class and they will often bounce the rear vent to heat when sliding in and out of the back seat. As a result, it's something I check every time I drive. So in my case, that's not the cause.

Thanks that actually happened to me once and that's the first thing I check now.

Yes. The armrest storage is where the most heat is so maybe I'm just feeling the effects of that. I always have my AC vents open so IMO if this is normal it's a very bad design on Hyundai's part. Thanks for the reply and glad to see I'm not imagining things.

I noticed hot air blowing in the back with the AC on in front a month ago and wasn't aware of the control dial in the rear of the armrest. Since I rarely have rear seat passengers I just disabled the rear climate control, but I actually had it as an action item for my first service call when I hit 3500. Guess I can remove it from the list now :).
