  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Okay, so I've got a Casablanca White Genesis 2015, 5.0. Has anyone else noticed that in the rain, the rain sticks to the car? I can come out of my office, two hours after the rain ended and my car looks like the only one that got rained on. Crazy water spots in the garage the next day.

Also, I've noticed that for whatever reason birds straight up target my car like nobodies business, like they have a friggin radar that that's the spot. Anyone else?

What kind of wax have you put on your car?

One thing that can affect how long it takes to dry a wet car is the temperature of the sheet metal. In the sun, white will stay coolest for longer, and might affect how long it takes for water to evaporate or could affect the droplet tension that keeps it from flowing as fast as a darker car.

Yes to being a bird target  but no issue in the rain. In fact, I'm impressed (but not surprised) at how easy it is to keep a white car looking clean. Maybe try a new wax.

Get car detail: wash, clay bar, polish, wax

Protect your expensive investment and get professional detail twice a year. Car will look great too!

Water runs off my Montecito Blue 5.0 Ultimate like juice off a duck :D

Ok cool, sounds like a wax issue. Will overhaul her this weekend :) thanks for the help, as always.

my car Montecito blue bead water pretty well but in general i found the shape of the hood, long and flat, to hold more water than most. my old car had a very slanted nose and gravity basically took care of it for me

Nano ceramic coating is good advice. How much is that costing these days? And how long does it take to do a full car?

Actually if you chose the right product and you did it by your own effort

it wont cost you

about choosing the right product i have been using many and most of them dont last long except one product that it protecting my car paint until now

its SONAX nano pro its German product and it lasted until now for over 4 months

cost only 100 $

Collinite 845 liquid insulator wax. It's a carnauba wax with longevity/durability of a sealant. It's the most slept on lsp. Nobody knows about it unless they know about it and those who don't have no idea how good it is.

Google it and join the few who know.

Or Collinite No 476 and No 915 Marque de Elegance (both paste) IMHO the best longevity carnauba wax on the market.

Do you ever have issues removing the 915? Never tried it because I've read it's hard to remove. I'd hate to be missing out on something due to overblown exaggerations. I do love the 845 though.

915 is not hard to remove if it's applied very THIN. That's the trick. If you are applying by hand you can do one panel at a time but with machine you can do the whole car then remove it without any hassle. Just give it a try and you won't get disappointed. Shining and longevity are greater than No 845, applying is just a little bit harder but it's worth it.

I use a griots garage DA to apply my waxes. How do you apply the paste to your pads? From what I've read the tin has a lip so you can't just dip the pad in. I use 5" pads.

Google is your friend. It's known to be a winter wax that lasts about 4-5 months or so, depending if your car is garage kept. I wasn't a believer either until I actually tried it.

Dont use wax

wax works like a body cream on the paint so it will go with washing

Nano ceramic is good if you choose the right one

Oxymoron.

Carnauba wax will fall of the car if you just look it at the wrong way.

Not with Collinite, it will last three times longer than other carnauba waxes, sometimes as long as regular OTC sealant but with the wet shiny look that just a carnauba wax shows.
