  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So I narrowed it down and planned to purchase a 2015 v8 Ultimate. I seen two, Ultimate, one at a Honda Dealer in Tennessee and the other at a Hyundai Dealer in Georgia. The Honda dealer in TN gave me an Out-the-door-price of $37,724 will 14K miles while the Hyundai dealer in GA is $40,527 with 11K and its hyundai CPO.

I originally did not plan to go over $35K for this purchase.

Is it possible to purchase the car from Honda then have a Hyundai dealer certify it? I called a local dealer and they said that they cannot do that. Also the Hyundai dealer that quote $40K said that I will not be able to do that, I really do not want to pay more then I have to. I saw a forum post of a new G2 owner doing just that.

both vehicles were built in March and April 2014.

Has anyone successful gone through that process.

You will not be able to get the one from Honda certified. This means you will not be able to get the HPP to 100k. You could get a 3rd party warranty - but you will likely overpay for it and it will not cover the things you need/want - such as electronics.

If you plan on keeping it a while & past it's 5 year/65k warranty - it may be worthwhile to get the one from the Hyundai dealer... but they are asking about 5k over book and 3k over market.

For more shopping options - hit up truecar :)

I kinda figured, but I thought I read in this forum that someone bought a g2 from a third-party then went to a Hyundai dealer to get it certified

Check Jim Ellis Atlanta inventory... I just picked up CPO V8 Ultimate from them (this Saturday). Great guys to deal with!

I just purchased a 2015 5.0 in CA with 1680 miles on it. It was never registered and was a dealer demo car manufactured in March 2015. Its not Ultimate but has everything I need. Dealer was asking $44,000 for it and I got them down to $39,000. Sold as Certified CPO vehicle. It included the remaindered of the 5/60 warranty and 10/100 factory warranty left over from the IN SERVICE date of Feb 2016. So I lost about 9 months on the warranty. I spent $2700 to get the dealer extended warranty which makes it bumper to bumper out to 10/100. I felt this is a good deal since I'll be keeping the car past the 5/60 warranty and this car has so much STUFF on it that could go wrong I thought it wise to extend the warranty. If you are interested in finding one of these cars there were 10+ such cars in CA and you can find them by searching AutoTrader. Good Luck in your search. I love this car. It is smooth, powerful, lots of options and safety features and puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.

Congratulations

I have a base 2015 V8; keep thinking of upgrading to a Ultimate....but #s do not support that desire :-)

Would you mind sharing the mileage and cost of your new Ultimate V8 CPO?

Thanks

It sounds like you got a Hell of a deal.

My auto dealer radius is for the search is 800 miles from the DC Metro area. Though its large, it does not appear to be alot of CPO Ultimate V8 left.

No, that is not possible, Only a Hyundai dealer can offer an Hyundai CPO on a car. The dealer cost of the CPO paid to Hyundai Motor America is about $1000 in order to get you the extended warranty from Hyundai.

There definitely are 3rd party warranties available, but not for a Hyundai extended warranty or CPO warranty.

Unfortunately I won't disclose the price, but its amazing, trust me ;) 55 miles on ODO. The car was from HI, moved to CA and then sold to GA. Now riding streets of NYC haha

Yeowch! That is incredibly high for a 100k b2b on this car. I got mine (HPP) for $1200 and others on this forum have gotten for something like 800.

I have heard that dealer cost for the extended warranty on the 1G was $1050, so $800 seems too low. Not sure what the dealer cost is for 2G, but obviously not anywhere near $2700.

Unfortunately, many don't realize that you shop around and buy the Hyundai extended warranty from any Hyundai dealer, including on the phone or internet, and does not have to be bought at time of auto purchase.
