  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I live in Texas and purchased a 2012 Genesis 4.6 36,000 miles in Florida last week, flew over and drove it back.

I enjoyed the trip and the beautiful car.

Sifted through a lot of information from the internet and things that interest me or looking to do are.

1. (Unfortunately) I need a front License plate holder.

2. Rear spoiler lip (I have seen some on the forum I like)

3. I will try the throttle response magnet mod, possibly look into the Sprint Booster

4. Video in Motion, I like the idea but don't know that I would use or have a need for it but I like not being restricted.

5. Xpel Headlight covers, hoping to delay or reduce the cloudy lenses that are always a problem.

Photos of my car, these are fine looking automobiles.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Your Genesis looks great!

FYI, I have a 2011 purchased in 2010 and the headlight lens still look like new after 193,000 miles. So you may not need to worry about them getting cloudy.

It's probably not the number of miles, but the number of hours parked outdoors that matters most. Especially in Texas.

I am in Georgia with frequent trips to Florida and the car is outside in the sun 5 days a week and more when its out of town. So it get the miles and the southern sun and heat.

Thanks for the comments and advice on Meguiar's. The tops of the headlight lens are already showing signs. Right now they are fine but 5 years from now, probably not and the lenses I am sure are expensive.

I have noticed the AM radio's volume is about half of FM's, looks to be others have the same issue while some work well. Have not read about any sure fixes regarding that.

The lack of throttle response continues to be bothersome, seems like what it really needs is a remap of the transmission shift points and footfeed response, short of that I guess trying the booster is the next best thing.

I just used normal wax and it took the cloudiness right off. Nice looking car and love the interior color.
