  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm in the market for an HTrac. But the problem is that so many of these cars have had the HTrac emblem removed. (admittedly I plan do to the same when I find one :) - But I've now found two cars that have been listed as RWD and come to find out they just had the HTrac badge removed and the dealer mismarked them. Now, both were at Non- Hyundai dealerships so that could be a factor but I need some help. Is there any evidence of AWD on the interior of the car that I might see in the photos? Maybe there's an easier way to tell?

Look for a heated steering wheel button in front of the armrest/storage console, should be right by the heated/cooled seat button.

Also look for heated seat buttons in the backseat (have to pull down armrest to see them).

Excellent. Thank you!

So heated steering wheel is only available on the AWD?

Perfect! Because they always show the DIS Knob in photos online.

So, without looking anywhere else:

This is HTRAC:

This is non HTRAC:

Correct?

Lantana is correct.

Curious as to why would someone remove HTrac emblem? We have Htrac and like the added distinction - it's not like it's an ugly badge. Different strokes i guess..

So, I am just curious if anyone can tell me what I am looking at here:

I don't often see them having heated AND cooled seats but still no DIS Knob. What package do you think this is? What would be missing from that of an HTRAC Ultimate?

It could be a ~'15 v8 5.0 basic ......I think mine looks like this.

Looks to be a AWD with at least heated steering wheel but minus the Ultimate trim. More than likely with heated rear seats to round out the package. The controller and the HUD is worth the Ultimate price tag. Keep looking!

Mine looks just like that. I have a 2015 3.8 AWD with Tech Package in Canada. Its the highest model V6 up here in the north. I think the only one with the knob in Canada is the 5.0 Ultimate.

The price is too attractive. It's got 19k miles and they are asking $32,998 for it. It's a 2015.

What do you mean by Controller? Do you mean the DIS controller? Yeah, I REALLY want that and the HUD and the larger LCD but I just can't find an HTRAC with a black interior. Everything is either some kind of cream color or tan. And I DON'T want a brown steering wheel.

So, if I buy this it'll be white (which I hear is slightly faster than Empire State Gray) with black interior. :)

If you can get the VIN of a vehicle you're looking at, go to this website:
www.vindecoderz.com/EN/Hyundai/GENESIS

Plug-in the VIN and if the result includes a second section below the basic VIN information listed as "Extra information on the vehicle:", look at the 7th line from the bottom below the "YEAR" line. This line is "NAME" and if the vehicle has HTRAC, it'll include "AWD' here; otherwise, it won't.

I tried this on a few 2017 Genesis G80 models that listed the description on a dealer site as "RWD" or "AWD" and it worked. I also tried it on my 2015 Genesis 3.8 HTRAC and it also worked. Other than that, I was unable to find any identifier in the VIN that would designate if a vehicle was "RWD" or "AWD."

Mine shows an H-trac symbol briefly in the upper right of the display between the speedo and tach when you turn the ignition on. Mine is also an Ultimate. May not show on other trims.

I pretty sure all the steering wheels are the same color regardless of the interior color.

They come with full black interior. The White one I am buying on Monday (fingers crossed) has a full black interior.

That's exactly how my interior looks. All black (although to me it looks like a dark gray). According to the brochure though it's "black".
