  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Cabin Air Filter

I spent 20 minutes trying to move the tabs and couldn't budge them at all. I finally got the glove box open by squeezing the sides of the box in towards the center of the box. I was able to drop the box open by doing this. I removed the tabs and put the box back into position and then put the tabs back in place. This whole procedure took less than 10 minutes from start to finish.

This is the one I used. It seems to be made with a generous amount of filter material, and is carbon-activated.

The trick in removing the tabs is keep the box closed as far as possible, but still having enough room to reach your hands in there.

So I've opened this area up before, but for a while, I've had this "clicking" noise coming from the glove box or that air vent above it. Does anyone else have that? It's not even when I hit potholes, but even on a smooth highway it's as if a plastic piece moves around sometimes and clicks.

From what I remember, there are 2 things holding the glove box and some wiring on the right side but I thought I put foam over any accessible parts there, yet I've still had that intermittent clicking sound. Does anyone have ideas on what moving parts may be there? The sound happens with the glove box open or closed. (I've not driven with it disconnected yet)

There is a fan in there somewhere, but don't know if that is what you are hearing.
