  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello
Is there any way that I can add heads up display to my 2015 genesis 3.8? It has technology package but unfortunately not the ultimate package.
Thank you in advance

Hello

Apparently the HUD needs a special windscreen that people have reported costs north of $2,200 to replace (http://genesisowners.com/hyundai-genesis-forum/showthread.php?20094-Cracked-Windsheild-in-Ultimate). Then you need the HUD projection unit, which is mounted on top of the instrument cluster, I assume that's probably not cheap as well. Wiring harness, installation, etc. will probably add some more $$$.

I doubt this will be done for under $3,500, probably more. Plus you won't have a warranty - I would personally not touch this project on my own car. I have an Ultimate, and the HUD is awesome (my favorite feature on the car), but I would not spend that kind of money to add one.

I would look at trading yours in on an ultimate. You'll maybe lose some on your car and obviously have to pay more for the ultimate but I'd rather go through the extra money and have a factory-installed setup with a warranty.

Totally new dashboard. Non-Ultimate models do not have the opening for the HUD. There would also be the question of where to obtain the signals and how to get the option onto the menus so that the HUD could be controlled.

Not a possibility at almost any cost in my humble opinion.

There IS a solution but it's not OEM. It's not expensive... Click here and check out this option. There are others as well...
