  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

WANTED: Hyundai Engineers? Specifically to Genesis R-Spec

I know of a person that has worked closely with Hyundai's powertrain team. What are your questions?

@84FordMan:
Its a long story.....but as a recap: Recently my vehicle spun a rod bearing. They told me it was lack of maintenance. With that said, it needs a new Engine Assembly which the warranty declined. Car is 2 years old. However, after my last oil change (which I was very diligent in doing) I never got, a oil pressure light, much less a vehicle maintenance alert. When the engine died on me, it never once gave me the "MIL" check engine light. - Going back to the last oil change it was done in June 2015 @ 20k miles, in July of 2015 I had the vehicle tore into by the dealership because of a dead snake in the middle console. At which time they for reasons (that I assume) changed my battery assembly. I am afraid when they did that nothing was put into a memory saver, and I believe it caused a loss of important information to the PCM. After this, never once I got any warnings, etc. BlueLink maintenance alerts simply stated the vehicle was fine. The car engine blew @ 44k miles. So it went 24k miles without an oil change. I bought the car based on the brand, reliability, sophistication and warranty. The car tells me when I am at 100 miles per hour, and knows exactly where I am, it tells me that I am in the wrong lane, etc. It never once told me you need an oil change. Your oil pressure is low. Check your engine. I feel the car has absolutely failed me.
What I want to know specifically, is when the battery was changed - can that cause the vehicle to forget and or loose indicators, such as oil pressure, MIL, etc. All other indicators, seat belt, hood open, gas, worked just fine. Any help is greatly appreciated. This car has been my worst nightmare from a month into it.
