  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Out of curiosity took the Genesis to the dyno this weekend. The vehicle has no other upgrades but an r2c cold air intake and Magnaflow 15059 catback exhaust. Not sure if I should be happy with the numbers but they are what they are. First run was hood closed and the car had been sitting for about an hour 75 degree Florida morning

Best pull was 361.93 hp and 350.31 lbft @ 5.05 RPM

Nice...thanks for posting the vid. What kind of wheels are those, and what are the specs? Looks good.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Factory specs for this car are:
Displacement: 307 cu in, 5038 cc
Power: 429 hp @ 6400 rpm
Torque: 376 lb-ft @ 5000 rpm
Your 3rd run dyno results are a little lighter:
Power: 362hp @ 6150 rpm
Torque: 350 lb-ft @ 5050 rpm
Possible differences from stock spec may be fuel grade, oil viscosity, miles on plugs, air filter flow, fuel filter flow, total miles on motor, condition of fuel injectors, valves and tire/wheel size.

I don't know about Hyundai, but most manufactures publish crankshaft HP/TQ but dynos show rear wheel HP/TQ which will be lower. I would say that 362 hp/350 lb-ft is very good.
If I am wrong about this, please correct me.

That is correct. Manufacturers list the HP and Torque of the engine only, not the actual amounts when mounted to a transmission and calculated at the drive wheels.

it's weird watching a dyno pull and not hearing PSSSHHHHHHTTTTT at the end of the run

STR Racing 620's 20x9 and 20 x10.5 with 35 and 38 offsets respectively, thanks...I get lots of compliments on the wheels

I got 352 RWHP (rear wheel horsepower) on my '12 R-Spec with a K&N replacement filter. Your 9 RWHP gain with intake/exhaust is about what I would expect.
Basically, the so-called CAI do not take in "cold ambient air" - they intake "underhood air" which is considerably warmer. Opening your hood during a dyno pull will add more bragging hp.
OEM exhaust is fairly efficient. Magnoflow will add a bit of power (I had a set), but they drone terribly.
Some real hp could be obtained with a true CAI and long tube headers; but we've been waiting for such since 2009.

Looks about right, typically around 20% of power is lost turning drivetrain. AKA wheel horsepower is only 80% of manufacturer quoted crank horsepower. Yours is about 15% loss which is reasonable.

Edmonds dyno tested a new 2012 5.0 rspec stock got 364 hp and 342 torque. About your dyno test I see 2 of dyno runs had 20 to 1 air ratio which is lean and other 15 to 1 more normal.
