  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I will give it to Mr Cardboard Box, since it had already damaged a car ahead of me and probably damaged some cars behind me. Empty but heavy duty, like for frozen stuff. Did a number on the lower bumper/air dam.

Well that just sucks. No matter how careful you are something jumps out and attacks at the most inopportune moment.
I hope when that happens to me, I'm driving the truck at the time. Good luck with the repair.

That does suck man. I'm going to put the repair estimate at $1500.

The impact sounded like no damage had been done. I will have to be more diligent. OK, maybe not.

ouch...wonder if that will be considered collision or comprehensive. If collision that would suck as you will have to pay higher deductible... did you have a chance to avoid it ?

No, boxed in on a freeway. The adjuster told me that if it had flown out a truck bed and landed in front of me, that would be comprehensive. Road hazards are collision (at least in Texas).

Shoulda lied and said it "flew out of a truck and came out of nowhere" ;)

That sucks though, but like someone said above, at least no sheet metal was damaged or needs painting. Some people paint their bumper cover every year; I may end up doing mine next year with so many little rocks and sand patches on our roads, absolutely kills the front fascia no matter how far you are from other people...... :(

For me, collision and comp have the same deductible, so it's a wash.

Fair enough, mine is like a $500 difference, so it'd be worth for me. If it's the same, yeah it don't matter, unless since it's collision insurance it goes against your record. As opposed to Comp not usually.
