Thinking of shipping 2015 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 V6 AWD (US model) to Europe

I own 2015 Genesis 3.8 V6 AWD with Ultimate package and I love it. I am moving back to Europe and instead of selling the car I am thinking of shipping it to Europe (specifically to Poland). I know that that Hyundai sells Genesis there because I have seen it at the local dealership. They are much more expensive than in the U.S. for pretty much the same car. I saw some minor differences inside but nothing major.

I know that there will be some minor issues with electronics. For example, I assume that navigation will not work, which I am willing to accept. Am I missing anything major. Is this is a bad idea? Would there be issues with service/repairs? Any feedback would be welcome.

I believe if you order the correct software the Nav should work fine the radio on the other hand, not sure. You can contact the MNSOFT Map Center at 1-888-757-0010 for answers.
The car is in miles not KM and I'm not sure you can change it without changing the instrument cluster which is over $2000 for the cluster alone.
Service should not be a huge issue provided they have access to US specific specs for part numbers.
Warranty will likely no longer apply as it is a US only warranty.
Shipping costs seem to be around $1200-$1500 and not sure if you are subject to the 23% VAT taxes.

The warranty you have for your USA model is not normally valid in other countries, partly since it is offered by HMA (Hyundai Motor America) and not Hyundai Korea. Warranties outside of the USA usually do not include the extended 10 year - 100K mile powertrain warranty for original owners (not even in Canada).

It is possible that you could contact HMA and get them to work out some kind of warranty coverage for you. They have occasionally done this for US Military personnel transferred overseas. But I would check this out ahead of time (don't bother asking your dealer, contact HMA directly).

I think the two biggest issues you will face are:

1. Gas price in Europe. At 12-14 l/100 km this thing will suck your funds dry quickly, especially if you do city driving.
2. Resale - you will never be able to sell that car in Europe at a reasonable price, there simply isn't a market for big Korean gas guzzlers over there. Value drops like a stone for these, and given that this is a US spec car without warranty, it will be worth even less than the few cars that are available on the used car market.

I found a few NEW Genesis vehicles online that sell at a 44% discount, less than 100 miles (125 km) on the clock. You can buy 2015 models for around Euro 33,000 (that's before negotiation) probably with an extended warranty and without all the hassles of bringing a US spec car over there ...

Given the size (this is is too big for many European roads), bad gas mileage, lack of warranty and cost of shipping/getting it Europe certified I would look very hard at the benefit of shipping the car over vs. selling it and getting a used Audi or Mercedes Benz Turbo Diesel over there ...
