  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have seen a 2015 Genesis with the small wings on the hood and trunk. If I want to remove the large wings and replace with the small are there holes or can I remove with a heat gun and fishing line and "stick" the smaller wings to replace? Thanks!

Yes, there are holes. However, so long as the smaller wings cover the holes (I don't know if they do, or not), it should be no problem. If the small wings have pegs that don't line up with the existing holes, you can just cut them off with a Dremel tool or something.

"Small wings?" Do you mean wings from other years?

Thanks Mark!

Yep PMCErnie. The 2013-2014 models.

That's what I was afraid of. Personally, I would leave well enough alone. I wouldn't hesitate to change the '15 wings to the '17 version, though.

Keep in mind that if replacing the front hood wings, they are not flat on the 2013-2014 model. They have a slight curvature to conform to the curve of the hood. I don't know if the 2015 hood has the same curvature on the hood. If the 2015 hood wings are flat, you might be able to use the old rear ones on the front also.

The rear wings are flat on both old and new wings, so should fit OK, but I don't know if the old wings will cover the 2015 holes.

Thanks! I'll have to look more closely at the '17 wings!

Thanks again Mark_888!

If your looking for the G1 wing to replace your current trunk wing, the G1 hood wing is larger and fits the G2 trunk perfectly.

Chris, the G1 Hood & Trunk emblems are not the same size?
According to this site, the hood badge is 7.25" and trunk badge is 6.25".

Badges are the same for both V6 and V8. The badges are actually the same for all G1, from 2009-2014.

As mentioned before, 2012-2014 hood badge is slightly curved to fit the curve of the G1 hood. It might be possible to use the hood badge on a flat trunk surface by pressing it flat, as some people reported buying the wrong badge by mistake and had to do that, but it might stick out very slightly in the center and not be perfectly flat against the surface of the trunk. But I don't know if the 2015-2016 has a flat surface on the trunk.
