Are you looking into a first gen or second? 4.6 or 5.0? Around my parts, you're not going to find a gen in the junk yard..
As far as fuel economy my '11 4.6 consistently gets 18 in town and 25+ on the free way. I hear the 3.8 isn't that much more fuel efficient, not enough to suede me toward V6 personally.
The
aftermarket really isn't HUGE for the gen, but it's there... no real, massively produced, pocket economical power adders for the V8's.. now, that 3.8 has a lot more
aftermarket options being that it was used in the coupe too. as far as cosmetic
mods for the gen, there are some but not a whole lot easily accessible, makes you make the car your own..
Coming from an 03 accord the differences are going to be so overwhelming you probably wont get bored with it for a few months.. long enough to plot your future moves..
Hope to see you in a Gen soon, absolutely loving mine.. Goodluck!
2011 so i believe that is 1st gen? 4.6L. yeah, i would imagine if i lived back in SoCal or NYC, that would be my best odds
18 city / 25 hwy isn't too bad
the 2003 Accord V6 comes in at 21 city / 30 hwy. the 4 cyl. gets awesome gas mileage but a bore to drive probably
thats awesome to hear that the 3.8 to 4.6 isn't a dramatic change like it is for the V6 Accord to the 4 cyl.
yeah, getting a 3.8 but with a larger
aftermarket vs. a 4.6 w/far less
aftermarket support, i would choose the latter
my hope is to
KDM like JDM but hopefully cheaper since i have family who reside in Korea
i agree, i think i would have a blast w/it for a while...one thing i did notice is that it does feel big and i didn't get a chance to see how it handles the corners
Accord was like a "boat on water" but i did the Acura TL-S Sway Bar upgrades and it was like night and day
i'm still debating...not sure if buying a Car is the best choice for me and my future plans

What generation of Genesis are you looking at?
G1 (2009-2014) or G2 (2015-2018)?
And what is your budget?
Here is the list of cars that I owned since I came to America in 1991:
'84 Toyota Cressida Station Wagon (I6)
'83 Toyota Cressida Sedan (I6)
'89 Toyota Cressida Sedan (I6)
'95 Toyota Avalon Sedan (V6)
'08 Hyundai Azera (V6)
'11 Genesis 4.6 (V8)
If I decide to sell or trade my 4.6 I will buy 13-14 Genesis R-spec 5.0 or G90 5.0 (only if I hit lottery jackpot). I am not going back to V6 engines, even twin turbos.

I get the same, and I think it is amazing mileage for V8 engine.
i think 2011 4.6 so thats a 1st gen?
budget i would say its in line with what i can afford. my current vehicle is paid off but not worth much (high miles). i would see around $1,000-2,000 for all the
aftermarket upgrades on my Accord
thats how i feel, i came from a 4 cyl. sports car to a V6 and will never go back to a 4 cyl. (the only HUGE discrepency to ever get a 4 cyl. would be a Evolution)

There isn'treally any
aftermarket in the states for engine/tuning the sedan. You're mostly limited to t
cosmetics and suspension. Most sedan AM stuff will be Korean... e.g. GarciaFactory.
There is much more AM out there for the coupe
i have family in Korea and hopefully that could make the
KDM market much more accessible for me
Cosmetic and Suspension is fine, plus
aftermarket Wheels
i think i would go more of a VIP look than pure performance but there are some modified Genesis like these 2 that sound awesome:

What kind of after-market support do you need? My Genesis came standard with
everything I needed, such as engine, transmission, brakes, steering
wheel, wheels, etc.
i have always been a modifier
i.e. my Accord V6 sits w/
Perf.
straight pipe w/dual Borla Mufflers
J Pipe from Tsudo
PreCat Deletes from RV6
4" Custom Intake
basic weight reduction stuff
Big Brake Kit
18" Wheels
and a bunch of other stuff it would take a while to list
i understand the Genesis, like most Luxury Sedans come pretty much with everything you need. i would just like to see if there would be any
aftermarket support for it
