Eliminate ACC

I asked about this a while ago and got no helpful responses. I despise active cruise control (2013 3.8 sedan)and want to eliminate this god-awful safety nanny. Can any electronics expert devise a way to get this to work in a "normal" manner? Please, no comments from anyone who like this abomination; you like,I hate.

This subject has been discussed many times before, and there is no way that anyone came up with to turn ACC to normal cruise control.

Obviously, if enough parts are replaced, it can be done, since the 2009-2014 base trim has regular cruise control, but the cost of doing that would not be feasible.

I'm assuming you know how to disable ACC on a "one-time basis" each time you start out?

Is it possible to still have "regular" cruise control that way? He owns a 2013 Genesis.

The steering wheel on a 1G Base Trim is different than the higher trim levels, partly because the controls are different without auto cruise control compared to manual cruise control on the Base trim level.

Can't do this on anything older than 2015. ACC has no option to change modes.

Once you have the ACC option you cannot revert to manual CC without going into the programming. You would have to change the car back to a base model and finding anyone at Hyundai or anywhere else that may have the secret to this will be all but impossible. I am trying to do a speedo conversion from Metric to Miles and there is no one at Hyundai engineering in the US or Canada that can answer any questions or provide flash information.

I believe Changing from ACC to normal CC is explained in the Genesis movies and it can be done. Unfortunately this is for the G90 only?

You can probably bypass the sensor so it thinks there is nothing ahead of you and just holds the speed. If that is the case you could even make it switchable.

I really like the ability to follow in traffic about 95% of the time, but there are a few times the CC will start to slow me down for no good reason. Not a big deal if you can move to the other lane. Ever notice that is is always the other guy causing traffic problems, never me.

I can toggle back & forth on my 2015 by turning CC on and then holding the "adjust distance" button for 3 secs. But, it is a royal nuisance.
