  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi - I have the V6 Premium Plus Genesis and my mirrors dont go down when i shift into R. The rear sunshade does go down, which is nice, but i'd love to have the mirrors go down too... Any idea how to program it to do it? Also - Should the seat move back when i power off the car? The wheel goes up but the seat doesnt move. Should it? where can i adjust these settings - or does the dealer have to do it?

the manual for the car doesn't specific any directions in this arena - certainly none how to program the defaults.

thanks and happy motoring.

Dealer guy must have turned your mirrors OFF. My guy had three cars in first shipment, and all had the mirror tilt on. I commented to him I really didn't like it [in my 528i only the right mirror tilts down]. When he returned from regional training last Thursday he did mention "I learned how to turn the mirrors OFF." I'll poke him and see if he will give up the trick. :D My car is scheduled for Saturday.

Flip the mirror control button to the right and your passenger side mirror should tilt down when in reverse. Putting it in the middle will turn it off.

As for the seats, mine work just the same. The steering wheel moves up when I turn off the car, but the seat stays stationary. If the seat moved backward after turning off the car I think it actually would hamper ingress/egress since the seat would be placed near the b-pillar.

Not to sound like a broken record, but we need pics of your Genesis! :p

Have a great day!

I had the opposite problem. My driver mirror didn't return to normal position after shifting back to drive from reverse.

Any ideas?

That sounds like an issue for the dealership......

Excellent advice! I just went out to the garage and tried your advice.

WITH MRROR CONTROL R/L SELECTOR SWITCH TO THE LEFT (DRIVER): Both sideview mirrors go down and back up when in Reverse

WITH MIRROR CONTROL R/L SELECTOR SWITCH TO THE RIGHT (PASSENGER): Only passenger mirror goes up and down.

Now tell me, is this feature described in the manual to the car? I think not. Neither is the sunshade up and down feature when in Reverse.

Pictures coming this weekend, my new Blackberry will be here tomorrow!

Thank you for your advice!!!!!

Check out pages 114 & 115 in your owners manual:)

Seth, I test drove a Tech package today and when I powered off the car the seat did move back. Remembering your question here, I tried it again just to make sure. Sorry not sure if this is just a tech package feature or there is some way to enable it in the premium plus, the salesman didn't know (shocker). I haven't read anywhere that would indicate it is available only in tech package, but I do know the tech package has some driver preferance settings. If I find out anything else I'll post it.

Thanks! my seat is still not moving. :) it could be a tech thing, but one would think that such information would be better documented in the manual or posted someplace, wouldn't one?
:)

I'm pretty confident the seat moving thing is only available in the Tech Pack.

Trade it in!

Thanks! my seat is still not moving. :)

Following is a page from the Driver Information System Manual, dealing with "Car Settings." My sales guy, who has been pretty reliable, says this is the only place you can turn the seat on/off. Apparently the wheel is hard wired to "tilt" in the premium pack.

Those instructions are for models w/ the Tech Package. Those are screen shots of the NAV screen. :( I haven't found any screens on my Genesis that allows me to customize certain settings. I also hate that all 4 doors do not unlock when using the smart key.

(I do not regret passing up the Tech Package, I do not regret passing up the Tech Package, I do NOT regret passing up the Tech Package)

Okay, enough of that. ;)

Oh YES you do:D

Pushing the door handle button or smart key unlock twice, unlocks all 4 + the trunk.:)
