Any seat cover recommendations?

Hi all,

Our baby is growing up and her long legs are letting her kick the seat very easily. She's still rear-facing so I wanted to get a seat cover that would protect the seat from her shoes but also help catch any mess from her carseat. I feel that the shape of the seats in the Ultimate might be difficult to fit.. If any of you have any recommendations I would appreciate your advice

Eventually, when we flip her to front facing we'll have to get something that hangs behind the front seats to provide pockets and protection but that's another story

Are you looking for a fitted commercial type cover like was common in the 1950's? I'd just hang a towel from the headrest. Easily removed and washable.

Thank you for your replies/suggestions. To clarify, my baby is still rear-facing, which means the baby carseat is facing the back of the car and she is kicking the backrest of the rear passenger seat. Eventually, she will face the front of the car and the types of covers that DougMCP included in his google search would be relevant but right now I am looking for something like this:

My concern was that since the actual seat in the car is not a flat box (it has curvature on the sides) that maybe these things won't fit properly. I was just checking to see if there was anyone else who was in my position of having a child and had already figured out an optimal seat cover for protection.

In a few days I'll just bite the bullet and pick one of these that has good reviews and see how it goes and update you all for when someone else needs that info =)

I picked up one of these for the back seat. It works great when I need some extra space and protection for the back. It looks pretty good, barely noticeable from outside, and fits well. The "front" does a half-fold-over so it can lay against the front of the seat neatly. There are hoops that push between the lower and upper seat portions to keep it in place, and it has velcro openings for seatbelt passthru.

I just saw that WeatherTech makes a hanging seat protector for when you get her turned around. I wonder if it would work on the seat back for now too.

I'd like to take a little tangent. Any recommendation for front seat covers, in particular the drivers side which has all the small heating/cooling 'airation' vents?

Driving a 2015 Genesis with about 27K on it and the driver seat is showing early signs of wearing poorly. Can't find a decent cleaner/conditioner (Lexol wipes are horrid)....and want to jump to a seat cover before more damage is done.

I cannot imagine any cover working well with the vents for cooling. I'd visit a real car upholstery shop and see what they have to say. They may be able to restore or patch rather than cover.

I think I read in the Ultimate manual that seat covers should not be used with heating and cooling seats. My brain is fuzzy, but I think it said it could cause the elements to overheat because of lack of proper air circulation?

Of course, if you're willing to stop using those 2 features, I'm sure you could find nice seat covers. A friend of mine purchased leather Rixxu covers that seem really nice. I don't know about longevity.

I used a dog cover for my back seat when I take my pup around. They hook around your rear headrests. They can color match your interior. Do a quick search for dog covers and plenty will come up.

I wouldn’t suggest having the rear windows down if you can’t tuck the corners down, it gets annoying flapping in the wind. Hope this helps

Thanks gang. Sounds like finding a good cleaner/preservative is the best you can do. Then just buy new Genesis leather covers at...I'm guessing about 60K. I'll stop at a few seat cover upholstery shops and see what they say. I will post if there is anything promising.
