  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I suspect this could be in part due to higher transaction prices. Prices continue to increase and dealers are taking less from MSRP each year. Sure, they're adding value, but so is the competition. Regardless, it's still a great value as is. At least from my personal observations. Hopefully that eventually means better resale value, but we'll see.

Do you have the numbers for the segment as a whole? Is the decrease isolated to Genesis only or are all of the luxury sedans selling less this year?

Almost all sedans are taking at hit in favor of SUV's.

After months of decline, the LS (500) broke the 1k sales barrier for March.

The 5 Series (4.4k) is up 39% from the same time last year.

The Q50 (5k) is up nearly 34%.

While these are few of the exceptions, still a bit disconcerting that the G80 and G90 are dropping as much as they are.

Wonder if there is some other factor accelerating the sales decline such as Hyundai starting to restrict supply in anticipation of the move to stand-alone Genesis dealerships.

According to Autotrader, only 650 '18MY G90's and 2,595 '18MY G80's available.

The G80 is now being outsold by the Stinger (1,555) - yeah, the Stinger is at a bit of a lower price-point, but does top out at $52k.

5 Series - 4,397
E Class/CLS - 4,024
A6 - 1,171
G80 - 1,049
CTS - 894
GS - 754
Q70 - 655

The Genesis/G80 used to handily outsell the A6 (which is an older model).
