  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Good afternoon everyone,
I am wondering if anyone has information on where I can get some aftermarket coil packs cold air intake and other dressup and performance items of my 5.0 r-spec? When I pop the hood I want it to look like a jewelry box, or I can just get PRADA engine covers. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Welp...
Keep it simple, find yourself a good powder coating company. Send off your your stuff or vinyl wrap (engine cover). R2C makes one. I understand it is good. But buy all means, please search this board.

Is R2C back in business? Last I checked, those hacks closed shop and screwed a lot of people on their orders.. myself included. Luckily Paypal refunded my money.. Some people weren't so lucky.

Hey Sean, the Weapon R Intake looks great in the engine bay and will give you a little performance. You will mainly feel it in throttle response. I have a few left in stock, let me know if you are interested and I can cut you a deal. Available in Black and Chrome.

Just as a heads up, aside from being under hood eye candy, the Weapon R intake is completely useless and you will not gain any additional power with it installed. The only definite gain is in intake noise and inlet air temps. Unfortunately, there is no place under the hood from which to draw cooler air and the sheetmetal 'box' that you get with the intake does nothing to shield the filter from drawing in hot air.
The long and short is that the Weapon R piping isn't large enough and the filter that you get is way too small for the 5.0 motor to the degree that it becomes a choke point at higher RPM's. I had this intake on my car and I've dyno'd it a few times but never saw any sort of power increase with it installed. As a matter of fact, we lost power through the midrange and around 5~7 hp up top. Stuck the factory airbox/oem paper filter back on and got the power back. Pulled the factory flapper out, installed a K&N drop in and picked up a few hp through the rpms and a couple additional up top. This is one of those cars that has a really decent factory induction setup.

All being said, if you only care about looks, then by all means, buy one. Otherwise, just stick with your factory airbox and a drop in K&N.

Great information, I was thinking about removing the flapper. I will check into that this weekend . Thank you.

$276 shipped to your door. It's classified as "5.0L R-Spec" fitment but it fits any of the trims and first generation sedans.
