If Genesis Motors wants to develop a RWD based SUV, that is OK with me. But where is it? By the time it comes out, Genesis Motors will be on life support since everyone else has an SUV, even RR.This again? lol
As YEG has stated, there is a delay in developing the new platform so likely won't see the GV80 until 2020.
Tarted-up FWD Genesis CUVs simply were not going to happen.
Aside from the outgoing Hyundai CUVs (Santa Fe Sport) not being conducive into being tarted up (and that, not being the direction where Genesis wants to take the brand) - again, a moot point as Hyundai doesn't even have the production capacity to produce its mainstream CUVs in enough volume.
The head of Kia product development has been hinting at a K900-based CUV down the road (wouldn't be surprised to see a Stinger-based one as well); you really think Genesis would have gone the FWD route when Kia has eyes on doing it proper?
Yep, he is an apologist for incompetent Hyundai/Genesis management, who completely mis-timed the market for SUV's. Even Rolls Royce has beaten Genesis to the punch with a SUV, not to mention Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc, etc.Funny how YEH goes on and on. Suddenly it's become a "blessing" that Genesis has no SUV/CUV offerings on the market yet.
And, what's his fixation on RWD? Most of the world knows that solo RWD is passé.

BMW has now started making a FWD SUV, so I don't know what his fixation with RWD is. Just another excuse by YEH as to why Genesis Motors will be late the dance.
BMW's First Front-Wheel Drive Car Is a Surprise Success
While enthusiasts bemoan its existence, BMW's front-wheel drive 2 Series Active Tourer is crushing it in Europe.

My '14 Santa Fe Sport (4 model years old now!!!) has AWD and a turbo 2.0T. I may buy the new '19 Santa Fe, but I probably would prefer a Genesis version, which will likely still be MIA (missing in action).
Blah, blah, blah, .... Your posts are way too long. You seem to have mistaken me for someone else (again) or you, as usual, mischaracterized or conveniently forgot what I have stated.
Everyone on this forum knows your posts are too long. I could probably rebut what you posted, but I am not even going to read it.^ And as usual, that's what you lazily end up resorting to (waaah! it's TOO LONG!!!) when you know you haven't nothing credible to rebut what I had stated.
Typical of your oft inaccurate, superficial and lazy analysis.
That was announced about 2 years ago.at least we all know now that somewhere at sometime a Genesis SUV/CUV will be made available.
This is a fascinating thread...
Aside from the personal attacks and back-and-forth hen fighting, at least we all know now that somewhere at sometime a Genesis SUV/CUV will be made available.
Carry on....
That was announced about 2 years ago.
It wasn't (and still hasn't been) officially "announced." It was told by Hyundai/Genesis executives to members of the automotive press and reported that the Genesis brand would eventually include some SUV's. That seems rather obvious that a brand like Genesis would have at least one SUV (and probably more than one), given that brands like Acura, Lexus, Infiniti, etc, have the majority of sales in the SUV category. Even the new Bentley SUV is their best selling model.Since I have not been on this forum for nine years as you have I don’t have the historical memory that clearly you do. Would you please point me at the Genesis announcement for a SUV.
Thanks, I appreciate it.
