  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis G70 Reviews

^ Likely won't happen until closer to the US launch (right now, it'll be just the Canadian publications).

Finally!

The Straight Pipes...

That was a good video. I actually drove the Stinger twice considering it as I liked the hatch and my kids prefered the bigger back seat. But the interior and actually driving the G70 is what swayed me. I don't think I disagree with anything in that vid.

those straight pipe guys are goofy, but usually spot on with their takes.

i completely agree with their take on the Sport wheels. Genesis should have stuck with the split 10-spoke wheel which is far and away the better looking wheel.

also, this is the first 'review' (sort of) talking with any significance about the 6MT model. hopefully there are several more in the coming days since all other media has focused on the AWD 3.3T. based on what these guys said about the 6MT, i am still keen to give it a rip when we get some test vehicles locally. it does sound like the best balanced platform, lower than AWD trims, and has the sport exhaust. of course it will also be the lightest available trim by at least 100lbs over the AWD 2.0T.

It was great to see this review show and discuss the 2.0t sport! I was disappointed that the straight pipes' review didn't cover it as much.

Some very nice reviews. I have to say, I really envy the Canadian sales model with direct purchase from Genesis through an agent rather than a dealership. Wish we had it in the US but the car dealerships have a powerful lobby here.

Why would you think those numbers are incorrect?? If anything i would think this car feels faster than that

Exactly. The Stinger is rated at at that (roughly). So my thinking is 0-100 of 4.5...and 4.3 seconds to 60. It is a known fact it's quicker than the Stinger.

I actually think some mag (or mags) got the Stinger faster than Kia's claims.

0-60 numbers are going to vary, depending on weather, road conditions, driver skill, and other factors. We won't really have any sense of what is "credible" until we get multiple reports and can exclude the outliers. But 4.5 seconds is pretty consistent with what I've seen so far.

You are right sorry... i thought you wdre saying it would be slower, like you said CarandDriver got a 4.4 0 to 60 in the stinger so i really do believe that this car will get 4.2 or 4.3

And...let's not forget (for me anyway)...the RaceChip is out there. This thing will be a sub-4 second car :)

Yeah that race chip in this car would be serious business, my problem is that i cant even make the most of the power it does have lol.. there is only so fast you need to get from 0 to 60km... i dont don much highway driving

And in other tests, the Stinger didn't break 5 seconds. And we don't have enough information yet to lend much credence to either of those results. We really do have to wait until we get multiple reports before we get a reliable estimate. Of course, I guess we can focus on the result we like best and ignore all the others but, as an outlier, that time isn't likely to reflect the actual performance of a car we'd actually find ourselves in. It may well be that the car is quicker than 4.5 from 0-60 but we don't have data that support expecting that on the typical car or even necessarily consistently on the tested car.
