  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

A lot of tire threads, but most are old/outdated, not on tires themselves, or not the same model.
This is for a stock rims 2015 Genesis 3.8 AWD
Trying to decide whether or not to buy the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ since they're on sale right now at Costco for $130 off a set of 4... I've heard the Continental DWS 06 tires are the favorite around here, but it looks like the Michelins are better rated in almost every category on tirerack.

Is there a reason for the DWS 06s over the Pilots?

I haven’t had Michelin tires for a number of years now. I have had several sets of the Continental DWS on a few cars and I really like them. I get decent wear out of them and I like the way the handle it wet and snowy conditions. They also handle very nicely in dry conditions. I think for an all around tire they should definitely be on your short list.

I have the DWS 06s. Got them as the replacement tire for the original recalled Hankooks instead of the Michelins that were being offered. Had the same Michelins on a previous car and wasn't happy with them re wear, noise, and winter use. I've been very happy with DWS 06 tires, but if I ran into the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ at a good price, I'd probably give them a try when it's time to replace my DWS 06s.

I had Conti's on my 2011 Sonata a few years ago. I put about 16k miles a year on my cars and I loved the tires for the first 12 months. Then things got noisy, REALLY noisy! I thought I had bad bearings but it was the tires. I have Michelin's MXM4's on my 15 Genny sedan now (they came with the car, CPO, so not sure how many miles are on them but look near new) and so far they are fine. Let's see how they perform in Illinois winter, as TR reviews show a rather low performer. My next tire will be either Michelin Premiers AS or the Pirelli Cinturato P7 AS +. I had the Pirelli's on my Lexus LS and they were great year round and super quiet.
