  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So my 2010 3.8 Sedan is quickly coming up on 200K, and since I got it with 160K it has rattled on start up. Surprise its not getting better with age, and I figure if I want to see another 100k I should probably change out the Tensioners . HOWEVER I cant seem to find a write up on how to do it anywhere. Can any one point me in the right direction?? Should I do the chain as well, or just the guides and tensioners?

Thanks

I can't help you with the rest of your question, but I have one for you. If you change the tensioners and six months later you have to replace the chain, do you want to do it all again? I'd do it all while it is open given the miles on it.

This link has all the information you will need.

Just set your printer to print-to-file and make as many PDF files as you want for future reference.

I would change the chain as well as the oil pump.
