Replacement Tires for 2015 Genesis 3.8 RWD?

Thanks for the reply. Scares me to purchase anything right now. I’ve always been a Michelin guy but the Primacy tires on this car make it sound like I’m driving on top of a helicopter. These started making a difference at 11,000 miles and have progressively gotten worse. Tire Rack shows a Michelin Pilot ranked #2 so I may look at those or the Pirelli tire line
The Michelin Pilot A/S 3 ranked number 2 in this Tire Rack test overall, but had the best handling. I guess the tire is just too stiff and noisy compared to the number 1 tire made by Pirelli. The A/S 3 ride quality is perfect to me, maybe the adaptive suspension in my Genesis smooths it out.

Are all the tires uniform in the wear? What was the tread depth? In staggered format, Michelin guarantees atleast 22,500 miles (half the original 45,000 miles).

I found the replacement Michelins to be noisy and rough. I replaced with Bridgestone Turenza Serenitys. I wear hearing aids so quiet is important to me (regardless of cost - hearings aids just amplify noise) and ride comfort is also important as we do a lot of touring. I replaced my Gen 1 tires with Turenza and had 60Km on them when I traded the car and they still had a lot of life in them. I've had these ones on my Gen 2 and they are great - quiet and comfortable!

Think this question is for me so...

Yes, even wear and 4/32. Basically, DT told me that this was a ultra-high performance tire and wears out quicker. Also, since its a 99Y, it's not meant for cars as heavy as the Genesis.

Sounds like someone is feeding you bull. Cars heavier than the Genesis use Michelin's with this speed rating. I'd go back and tell them to file a claim with Michelin for pre-mature wear.

I'm assuming the "Tx" in your name means you live in Texas?

Yeah, I also thought it was BS since 99Y is load rated for ~1,700lbs and the genesis (v6) is under 4,500 lbs. As far as speed rating, its not an issue.

Also, I took the car to the dealer for some warranty work and did the state inspection. They said tires had low tread but it passed the inspection.

Going to wait and see what they tell me at the next oil change.

If you have a Discount Tire near by, drop in and see if they can help you. Where in Texas are you?

That's were I bought the tires (DT) and they were the ones that told me about the fast wear and load rating during my last visit.

Just bought my Michelin's. So far so good. They have increased the heft to the steering. Side note: Discount Tire has a awesome Labor Day deal going on. 20% off if you buy a set of 4 tires and finance it with their credit card.

Ditto, Discount Tires Sale. Ordered a set of Pirelli Cinturato P7 A/S Plus myself from them today. $167 each before the 20% rebate. $134 each after the rebate. Smoking Deal!

Had my Pirelli’s installed yesterday. Due to a screwup with Discounts online promo the store Manager did an in store adjustment on my invoice. So out the door with tax and install $636.60 for 4 Pirelli Cinturato P7 a/s plus. I’m thrilled with the deal and impressed with the tires. A huge upgrade over the Firestone’s that the dealer had put on the car.

I can recommend Pirelli P7 Cinturato. These are the most comfortable and quietest all season tires I ever experience. And the price is great too. You cannot go wrong with it and you will be very satisfied. I had DWS's and I hated them. They got noisy quickly... My boss had them too on his 2015 S5 and he hated them.

I also bought the Pirellis in July, but couldn't get rid of a vibration. They were a little noisier than the original Michelin MXM4s, but didn't seem to handle as well. I finally had Discount Tire trade them for Michelin Pilot MX MXM4s which made the car feel like new again. Of course, it did end up costing me more! I'm very interested in your experience now that you have the Pirellis for a while.

So far smooth and quiet, but I only have the Firestone’s to compare them to.. The Firestone’s were terrible noisy and hard riding.

Has anyone tried the Cooper CS5 Ultra Touring? It has been available for a while but still gets good reviews. The Hankook Kinergy GT H436 is very new but appears to be good. Any news on that tire?

Mikey Thompson drag radials, or Hoosiers.

That was a joke.

Despite regular rotations, my replacement Michelin tires have already worn out. I am looking to replace them. I wasn't impressed with the tread life or the road noise on the Michelin's. Has anyone here crossed this bridge and had a better result with a different tire on their 2015 3.8 Genesis?
I got the hankooks ventus v12 evo2 and i love them. Grips great in rain. Had these tires since i had 2010 genesis coupe

have 19000 miles and the need replacement

Take them to your tire shop. If they are still within the 'mileage warranty', they will prorate replacements.
