  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi all,

The time has finally come and I am about to purchase the following beauty:

LINK 2015 3.8 Ultimate

I currently own 2018 Sonata Ultimate which is my DD. I test drove that Genesis and fell in love with it as soon as I got the car and closed the door. I love how quiet and insulated from the outside it is. The car has currently 37k miles on it. It has Michelin tires that are worn out, front rotors resurfaced and break pads replaced. Wouldn't it be to soon for front breaks and tires at that millage? This is the only thing that concerns me. I also noticed that there is no top view on the rear view camera and have double lines instead. I already found the fix and will fix it today when doing another test drive with my wife. They will also put new tires as the car is being sold as CPO. Other than that, the car is amazing. Anything else that I should be paying attention to?

Thank you in advance!
PK

Drive it all around. Especially over bumpy side roads etc. Listen for the dreaded panoramic roof popping and squeaking noises that plague these roofs. Mine has it but haven't gone in for a fix yet.

Thank you for your reply. I already did very bumpy road and only noise I hear is leather to leather noise coming from front passenger side. I also did 75mph on the side road to see if it has that panoramic roof rattle issue (I had it with my 2013 Azera). No rattles. Today I will be taking it on extended highway drive so I can really get a feel for it.

I just noticed that I posted in 2009 - 2014 Genesis instead of 2015 - 2016. Admin, please move if possible.

My 2015 needed tires a bit before that. Seems about normal. As for brakes, it depends on where and how you drive. Mostly highway would give you an easy 60,000+ miles but a NYC cab would probably need them at 15,000 or less. Starting off with new brakes is a good thing though.

The "leather to leather noise" is not normal, well at least in my 2015 model. My interior is very quiet over bumpy roads except for a shock thud on really bad dips and bumps. Th only noise I get on rough roads is a slight tapping from the aftermarket headrest monitors that the previous owner installed if the headrests are adjusted up from the seat back.
