Fan is on when the engine is off

I have noticed when I turned off my car today, the fan has kept running. I haven't noticed it since I've gotten it. It shuts off after a few minutes. I dont know if this is normal or not. Temps are still good. The car just hit 90k miles, thinking about doing a radiator flush to see if that helps. I scanned it the other day and there was no codes.

Normal, it is thermostatically controlled. Mine has done it only a few times on hot days.

Yup normal. If it runs more than 5 minutes then be concerned.

I wouldn't unless you had a warning to do so. Almost every car I had and maybe every one has had the fan kick on for few minutes to aid in the engine cool down process. Don't know how hot the engine area gets while cruising a 60 MPH+, but come to a stop and suddenly no ram air through the radiator, the engine needs the fan go help cool down the engine.

Flush won't hurt but. . .
I'd keep an eye on the temp gauge. If it goes higher than normal, yes, do the flush.

The outside temp may not have been that high, but the right combination of driving, AC load, radiator temperature may set the fan to run a bit. Mine has done it a couple of times too, when seemingly not that hot, but it is designed to work that way.

Check the manual for when the coolant should be changed. IIRC, mine is 120,000 miles first time, then every 30k.

Coolant levels are fine. I have been keeping an eye on the gauge and it hasn't passed the half mark, its just under the mark. Just weird that it randomly kicks on under load.

Yesterday morning, around 5 am the fan turned on as soon as I turned on the car. But later on in the day it didn't do it. As long as it doesn't overheat, I'm not too worried about it. Ill just watch it.

That seems a bit odd. I don't know what sets it off but perhaps the sensor is getting wacky or a contact sticking. Better too much than not enough fan though.

Do you know where the sensor would be located at? I might as well go to the dealer and have them check it out.
