None are really cheap. www.mapnsoft.com $145. Looks like that is the download price. On an SD card it is more..Either way, it has to be put on a 16G SD card to go into the car.

I ordered mine off of eBay last yearfor $39 for my 2015 Ultimate. It was v11. Seems like a few sellers get these cards out of totaled cars. Be sure to match the product numbers for the version you want.

OK, I'm looking at the SD cards available on ebay for the Genesis navigation
2015 touchscreen version.
Many of them state "latest version" but do not list the update version.
They do however have the serial number listed and visible in the picture.
Does anyone know what the serial number for the latest version (V12.5) is?
This number: 96554-B1BE2 is listed on several that state latest version.

Another wrinkle: different versions are needed for for Ultimate and non-Ultimate cars.
Mapnsoft calls Ultimate "Jog Dial", and all others "Premium"
Haven't been able, so far, to relate visible numbers on the SD cards to applicability and version.

See if someone who did multiple updates will sell you their older versions?

You'll need both the USB and SD card. When I did mine, the software update was done through the USB port and the updated maps are on the SD card.

Not sure if buying someone else's card and usb will work, when you order you need your VIN + Device ID off the head unit which then gets a authorization code you need to enter for your specific car.

I didn't need the VIN when I ordered mine but I'm up in Canada. If the car isn't a Ultimate, I think you can get the free update to Android Auto in the US.

Oh yea, that could be the reason, so probably for us ultimate folks that will need vin and head unit ID to get it to work.

Don't know if you have a ultimate package or tech, but under ultimate, in in settings and Nav and you can see the version and it gives you a device ID which you will need when you go thru the process along with the VIN.

I just went through the purchase process on MapnSoft all the way up to the payment screen. Nowhere did it ask for the VIN. I don't think it's needed for the newer versions. I don't see why it's needed since the SD card is copy protected. I remember when I ordered mine, I tried to make a copy so I can run off the copy and keep the original in a safe location but it wouldn't work.

Now that I think about it, I bought mine when they screwed up the website and offered the 2015 Ultimate as a download. It asked for VIN and Device ID to get authorization code. I think your process is different since you ordered the media.

I don't know the seriel numbers off hand ....but I did do a google search from the serial number and it matched what I was getting.

Yes the card for the Ultimate says "premium" on the card for the 9.2 inch screen.

Yes, I checked each one of the numbers listed on ebay that referenced my make and model and year.
They all fit my car. But the goal is to find the one that does indeed have the latest update. (V12.5)
I can't find any cross reference of the version number vs serial number.

I don't want to save money buying an older version. I already have that.

Do you know if 96554-B1BE2 is for the 9.2" Ultimate version (called the "Jog Dial") or the 8.0" Premium variants?

You may need the secondary USB key too, its for when the update button is greyed out.

You need both. Only the maps are on the SD card. USB is for the actual firmware upgrade. Not sure if you can use a card with newer maps on a system with older firmware.
