Parking camera armed?

Exactly, which brings us right back to my original question. Why is there a light on the switch indicating that it is on or armed when your only really going to put it on when your just about to pull into a spot?
 
I think he means that you usually don't need the camera while you're looking for a parking spot. Once you've chosen one, you can activate the system because it's unlikely you'll exceed the 9 MPH threshold. That works for me whether I'm parking parallel, perpendicular, or entering or exiting my garage. I especially like seeing where my tires/wheels are relative to the closest curb. The older I get, the harder it is for me to be absolutely sure.

I sometimes turn on the camera when I'm stopped in traffic, just for fun. The warning "objects are much closer than they appear" definitely applies to the forward view. Makes me think of Jeff

Works for me too. I don’t exceed 9mph once I have activated it and it turns ON.
 
Honda has the feature that is quite nice...it turns on the side mirror camera dynamically and uses half of the entertainment screen to show the blind spot, such as when changing lanes corresponding to the blinker. Of course it is a view down the side of a car and into the blind spot.

That would solve the problem. Show the side mirror camera when using the blinker above 9mph, show the default parking setup view when below 9mph when blinker is used. And maybe show the 360 view when hazards are turned on.

except the camera in the mirror is one of the ugliest designs I have witnessed on a car in several years, the least Honda could due is try and hide it better:

I guess that the engineers figured that there would be situations in which you'd want to arm the system when the car was stopped or going > 9 MPH. The light would tell you that it was so-armed. Not terribly helpful to me, though.

Not that I use the light or pay attention to it but I do regularly arm it when I am going faster than 9 MPH. When I turn onto my street I will arm the camera so it is on as soon as I am pulling into my driveway.
