  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does any one know a good Smog testing center in the Newbury Park, Thousand Oaks or Westlake Village area to get my 2012 4.6 V8 Smog?

Thanks for your help, Marty

Are you past the CA 7 year 70,000 miles? If not, should not matter where you go. Fed is 8/80k

You have no real choices, smog tests in CA are done at a test only station. They use a dyno in cities where smog is an issue and not in rural or non-smoggy areas. Once again depending on your area they may or may not use the dyno and it's not your choice.
If you don' t currently have any check engine lights and it has not been reset you should have no issues with smogging.

The 7 year is coming in Oct 2018. Got the DMV Reg. to get it smog. I only have 35,650 miles on it. Great car, no problems.

Thanks Marty

Any recommendations on where to get the Smog test done?

Which one did you use?

none of them, I haven't smogged a car in 20 years. never keep them long enough to have to worry about it.. and my hot rods are exempt..

That sounds great. I was in Denver visiting my god son, he and his friends all have custom cars and hot rods cars.

My current one. 1939 Ford Tudor Deluxe.

That looks sweet!

My dad and I finished it in 1997. Last thing we did before he passed, Took 8 years. All Henry Ford Steel with as many original body and interior parts as we could find.

Motor is a Chevy 327 out of a 1962 Corvette with performance internals a high rise manifold and dual 4bbl edelbrock carbs.

I recently put AC in it, vintage air system, as driving it in summer is like being in a sauna

If anyone's interested I got my 2010 4.6 smogged last week, no problems, 110k miles, NorCal.
