  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My 15' 3.8 sedan has been acting up the last few weeks. First, both my rear power windows went dead and needed new actuators. My right turn signal bulb burnt out the day I dropped it off at the dealer to replace the actuators. Now, my side mirrors will no longer drop down when putting the car in reverse. This is after the mirrors were acting up by not folding in when locking the car (I made sure the mess with the button on the door that sets what the mirrors do when locked / unlocked. They eventually worked again after a few tries). Also, my AM (sports radio - local and national ESPN 1000) stations on the radio have terrible reception with a ton of static and distortion. Granted I'm pretty far away from the broadcast towers in Chicago, but my Toyota Highlander doesn't have any issues getting AM signals in my area.

After reading various threads with people having constant burnt out turn signal bulbs, I'm a bit concerned that my car may have electrical gremlins. These things all started to happen after the dealer replaced the propeller shaft to fix the flutter noise. This makes me wonder if certain repair procedures require a battery disconnect to avoid frying certain components, seeing as there's been a host of issues since the flutter fix, all related to electrical components.

Thoughts?

Two thing I would check. Actual voltage output of the alternator and ground. When checking the ground, be sure you have a good battery connection as well as where the cable goes on the other end.

I have no idea if replacing the shaft would affect anything electrical.
