Tips to a new owner maintaining a 2015 3.8 AWD Ultimate w/ 22k miles

Y'all got any tips that can help us keep our babies in tip top shape? I have the 2015 Genesis AWD 3.8L Ultimate package with 22180 miles. I've also bought the Platinum warranty.

Does anyone have a good maintenance schedule?
What maintenance issue do we need to really close keep an eye on?

I hope that is a typo on the miles, if not just keep doing what was done.


Follow the manual. Oil changes are probably the one single thing that will help the engine last a long time. Good coat of wax will keep it looking good of course.

Do you wax your own car or use one of those drive through car wash places?

You should do a hand wax at least once a year. I typically avoid automatic car washes but the newer ones are not to be so bad on your finish

I use the touchless car wash in winter, but summer do my own. I like to hand wax before winter too.

I bought my ultimate with 8999 miles on it, I put about 23k miles in about 2 years, just wash wax and keep it clean. Do regular maintenance and should be fine. If the front end is free of rock chips, get a clear wrap done to protected it. I do a lot of highway rock chips is unavoidable.

Oh I also use a lot of zymol quick detail spray, I usually spray that after a wash if I don't have time to wax and really clean it.

Yes, I always use a wax and dry spray whenever I wash... keeps that gloss up!

I just had my 30,000 miles check on my 15 AWD. The dealership has maintained my car since I bought it there 3 1/2 years ago. If you look at your service intervals it will tell you what should be done at certain mile points. I buy my own synthetic oil for them to put in as they use synthetic blend, but this time they changed all the filters, flushed and replaced the brake fluid, check all hoses and fittings and the belt. They also rotated the tires. With their labor rate I got the pleasure of paying over $500. May look for an independent mechanic for future service. I changed out the wipers as they needed it. Keep it clean and waxed. Regular oil changes keep them going. I do mine every 10,000 miles or 1 year whichever occurs first.

The car wash that you go to, is it the kind that you can stay in the car or have to exit.

Stay in the car and the wash rack moves around you. No brushes, just high pressure. Does a decent job, especially after driving in snow, slush, salt and it is still only 36 degrees.

I don't have it but I would if I lived in the south and sunny places. Just be sure to keep the frond windows legal for your state.
