  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

Being a early Genesis adopter I can tell you to not believe that everything Genesis do in Korea will be imported to the rest of the world inmediatly. They always have put a lot of technology on their Korean's cars that took years to come out to other markets.
I understand what you mean but if BMW, Audi and Mercedes offer a Digital instrument cluster around the world I am sure that Genesis could as well.

We already have those 2. They were omitted in the S.Korean market. So the only thing new is that 3D Virtual Cockpit...meh...not worth the wait. Still no MMI interface.

I'm pretty sure the new awd system is an upgraded version that is more track oriented and is being tested in the kia stinger. I remember reading an article where biermann was talking about their awd system getting upgraded. The mechanical lsd probably won't change from the current version

Details found here, the OP linked it as well

I'm never going to take it to the track but the upgraded awd system, 3d instrument cluster, and upgraded infotainment system sure sound nice. Wonder if I should wait for it, but as others have said, who knows if it'll ever come stateside.
I really really hope it does. All those features sound amazing and honestly the US deserves these features because of all the delays and the dealership issues. Plus if you think about it the Facelift G90 will get some sort of digital Cockpit then you would have the next gen G80 with it as well as the GV80 so honestly it would make sense for Genesis to offer it on the G70 especially it being a first 3D Cluster for the Segment it’s in. I’ll b holding off.

I have a digital screen, albeit much smaller than 12.3" in my IS350, but have grown to really like it. My one issue is that you do have to go through the different screens to get all of the information you want which doesn't seem to be an issue here. Think I'm willing to wait for what appears to be a significant upgrade in year 2. I know Lexus added a heated steering wheel and ventilated seats to the 2015 model year after the 2014s lacked either as an option. I'm leaning toward waiting as of right now to see if more information comes out regarding MY 2020 as opposed to feeling like I missed out on a significant upgrade for instant gratification in what would theoretically be less than a year and all issues with dealerships would then be resolved. Decisions, decisions, decisions...

I'd be very interested in seeing a video showing all the options/features/modes once it does come to the masses in South Korea.

Beefer, any chance in prodding one of your Genesis connections for any information on this being a future option in the states? :)

Not sure...I'm done with them. All I want is to find my car...lease it...and be done with it. If it will become a problem to find my car...might consider a different color combo. So not sure of anything.

So no more calling execs...as I don't trust anyone at Genesis anymore.

And to chime in...I would never wait just to get a virtual cockpit. That is all that is coming for the 2020 car. Pointless.

So Genesis of Korea has updated their website to show off the 2019 Genesis G70. From what it looks like the model will be getting a full digital cluster so far as the new option. If this is the case and the 2020 Model year will get the digital cluster I’d probably hold off until then.

Dear Lord, that is exactly what this car needed. Ugh, now I may have to wait to 2020....

Do we know if any other east coast dealers have received any new inventory?

I’m not only holding off for the Virtual Cockpit and possibly other stuff that could come to the US market, I’m primarily holding off because it’s the first model year of a new vehicle. No matter what car it is there is bound to be problems the first model year. In your situation I can understand as your lease on the A4 is up and you need to upgrade and you want to upgrade to a G70. To be honest nobody can really tell what will come for the 2020 MY, for example we might finally get Ambient Lighting which should of been an option for 2019 Model.

Given what's been happening, I hope everyone realizes that the 2020 model will be at your local dealership (local, LOL), sometime in 2021. :)
This is why human nature never stops amazing me. This thread is about how we are are struggling to get the 2019 G70 here in the states and suddenly some posters start talking about the next model year that should be released across the Pacific Ocean on an unknown date that we don't even know if will be available in or country. Priceless!

I completely understand where you are coming from but I was merely saying on what Korea would be getting in their market and the possibility of us getting it here. WE are all in the community together and should show a little respect to one another. I appreciate your concern though.

Not that it maters but he showed absolutely no disrespect in his post. He merely made an observation that I'm sure many folks on here were thinking, I know I was. All is good.

That's a better response that the one I could give. Thanks!

Thank you for the response!! Trust me I truly want to see the people who are eagerly waiting to get a G70 get one. It’s a tough ride and I see everyone’s frustration. :drinks:

I can't wait for Chicago to receive theirs so I can see it in person!
