  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

thanks for this

Nice, a few corrections, there's definitely a real-life 2.0T advanced G70 in siberian ice being sold in NJ (I saw it in person) so that color option is available for that category. Also, the 3.3T advanced gets the 'genuine' leather and not leatherette per their press release.

Yeah...this was really tough to do. Don't even ask. A lot of it I was looking at dealer photos where they included a pic of the door label. I then used some Canadian G70 data...which has less options than the USA.

Nice to know so many of these paints are metallic or ceramic. That's been a question I've been wondering for a while. Manufacturers should just outright say if paints are metallic or ceramic; it makes for fancier advertising too.

Glad to see the G70 has acoustic glass too. They never advertised that, but I've been looking at some other cars that advertise it and wondered if they had a noise advantage over the G70.

Their terminology seems a bit odd. I think the first category in the configurator should be "configuration" or something, then the second category should be TRIM, not Package.

I guess the press cars were accurate--the 2.0T six-speed is not "Sport" like the other Sport trims--doesn't have the dark trim or dark five-spoke wheels. That look was really growing on me, especially in my preferred colors Mallorca Blue or SI.

I think it looks best when there's good contrast with the trim... e.g., SI with dark trim and wheels, Himalayan gray with chrome trim and machined 10-spokes.

Does anyone get the rationale for the six-speed manual option NOT being a "Sport" trim [with dark wheels and grille etc.]?

So I was looking at the configurator. For the RWD 2.0 model, is there literally no way to get HUD or wireless charging pad? For the AWD both of those are listed in the prestige package. The dynamic and sport package both list the everything in prestige plus additional. The RWD doesn't have a prestige model as expected. However, the Dynamic and Sport packages don't mention a HUD, wireless charging pad, or anything else the AWD prestige package adds. Is this an oversight or do the RWD 2.0 models really not have this?

This is probably just an oversight. I would bet that it's just a mistake on their part. It wouldn't be their first and definitely not their last lol.

That's an oversight. Here's an example of a fully loaded 2.0T RWD at Henderson NV.

No. A misstep among many in my opinion.

^ what? weird. the 6MT Sport is indeed a true 'Sport' in Canada. it looks identical to the 3.3T Sport inside and out, but has additional performance-oriented features like the sport brake pads. it does lack the vented seats of the US trim (doh!) but has the pano roof, nappa x-stitched seats, dark 5-spokes, dark chrome, HUD, 15-speaker Lexicon, etc...

i've been told repeatedly that, at least in CAD, the 6MT Sport is the lightest and most driver performance-biased trim - with all the go-fast goodies (except the 3.3T of course!). that said, we clearly got a bunch of the luxury items which would have added some weight back into the equation. overall it is a great balance. really, the only change i would make is to add the vented seats. since we get the perforated x-stitched nappa leather this would seem to be trivial. i'd love to know if this feature could be retrofit.

It seems they wanted to keep the 2.0T manual trim price down in the U.S., and I'm okay with most tradeoffs for that goal (since it still gets upgraded sound and ventilated seats), but I don't get why they nixed the dark 5-spokes and dark chrome.

They stripped it of content to cheapen it and perhaps in their eyes tempt a larger audience. No other way to explain it. However, for ME personally they took the luxury out of a luxury car so I am no longer considering the 6MT G70. The perfect scenario would have been to take the AT 2.0T Sport and just offer it with the 6MT with no other content changes. But, I'm just a consumer and Genesis didn't ask me.. so what do I know??

Ooh... I bet it doesn't get the heated steering wheel either. Not mentioned in description of trim [which seems incomplete...?].

I think you meant a 6MT 3.3TT G70 Sport transmission swap would have been the perfect situation for enthusiasts.. :)

I also wonder whether the picture in the builder is accurate--does the 2.0T six-speed get the grille applique? As in, it doesn't have the enhanced cruise features/radar/doesn't need it, right?
Except the manual spec car at the NH press event had it.

Update (of sorts): this 6MT in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada does NOT have the bumper applique for enhanced cruise etc. [Slightly used manager demo for sale for $41,500 CAD]
