  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just got my 2016 Genesis ultimate and noticed my parking brake light icon won't turn off in the dashboard. It wasn't like this when I picked it up but when I was exploring last night I turned it on and couldn't turn it off.

I'm pressing down on the brake pedal and simultaneously pushing the park button down which is what I interpret from the manual. What am I doing wrong? How do I get the icon to go away?

Also the autohold isn't turning off and the check automatic emergency brake warning shows on the dash. Is this all related?

Does the car move? When you put the car in gear and drive it comes off auto hold and the parking brakes comes off. Not sure why the AEB warning would be showing unless there is a problem. Is the front rectangular clear plate blocked with something?

Yes, it may all be related. When you shut the car off and restart it should not be in Auto Hold and the parking brake will be on if it was engaged either manually or from the Auto Hold feature. The AEB warning will show if it gets covered with snow, heavy rain, or a lot of dirt. If it is clear, then I'd visit the dealer.

Yes, I can still drive the car. The clear radar plate isn't blocked. It's clear as day. I guess the car is going back the dealer for check on Monday.

Can u let me know What was the final result. Same thing is happening to me now.

When my EPB module failed, it caused several warning lights. I can't remember exactly which ones, but I believe the AEB warning was one of them. From what I understand after talking to the service advisor, most of these modules communicate with each other so the failure of one module can disable several systems. I don't know if it was necessarily the EPB module in the OP's case, but a dealer should be able to diagnose the problem and determine if any modules have failed.

In my case, the EPB was locked on, so I had to get the car towed to the dealer on a flatbed. The EPB module cost about $1,600 to replace ($800 parts, $800 labor). Luckily, I had about 100 miles left on my warranty when it happened. This was a couple of years ago and billed as warranty work, so the charge may be more now.
